| 14-6-2008 - oh the back pain | My mood while writing this blog:worn out |
Okay, so this is my third pregnancy. During my second, I got this horrible back pain in week 36. Luckily my doctor induced me at 38 weeks, so I didn't have to endure it for a whole month. I was working a full time job at the time, but it was behind a computer. Lots of sitting.
I had heard that if you had back pain during pregnancy, you'd have it again in the pregnancies that follow. Well, they weren't kidding!
I've had back pain for months now. Always in the same spot. Right under my right shoulder blade. And no matter what position I try to sit in or lie back in, nothing aleviates it. Just laying down. But that doesn't really help me during the hour long drive I take on a weekly basis. My church is an hour away. I was raised in Nashville. Grew up there, and had lived there most of my adult life. But my husband and I are living on post, where he's stationed until next October. It's an hour away from Nashville.
My friends and family all still live down there, so I take that drive at least once or twice a week. So while the first part of the drive isn't that bad, by the time I'm heading the other way my back is killing me.
On top of that, I have a 3 year old to keep up with this time around. See, my first pregnancy ended in adoption. Completely the right decision for my husband and me. We are very satisfied with how things are because it's an open adoption and we've sort of become this extended family. Anyway, so I didn't have a child to keep up with during my second pregnancy. I think I'm even more active this time even though I'm a stay at home mom this time.
So I'm feeling worn out. I'm still in week 31. I've started telling people I have 2 weeks less than what I actually have. Only because I was induced at week 38 last time. And with the first one I was a week early, just going in to labor naturally. So I kind of feel like there's no way I could possibly make it to week 40. Even though I know it's entirely possible. I just hope I have a healthy baby, whether I go to week 37 or beyond. I'll be term on July 21st. I feel comfortable getting to that point.
