08-8-2009 - Baby Mark Tired but HappyMy mood while writing this blog:
Tired but Happy

Hi Everyone. Just wanted to give you a quick update but I will respond to everyone when I have more time. Mark was born at 7:41am on 8/6/09. He weighed 8 pounds 8.6 ozs and was 20 1/2 inches long. At birth he had some lung immaturity problems and was on 100% oxygen. They have weaned him off the oxygen and is now on room air. Yeah! His sugar levels were also very unstable at birth (ranging from 8 to 180 in a matter of 30 minutes). They did the special IV in the cord stump with special glucose and steroids to balance him out. It took about 36 hours, but he is now stable. He is still in the NICU, but all we are waiting for is for Mark to decide to start taking bottle feedings better. Right now he is taking about 15-30 ml every 3 hours (so 1/2 to 1 ounce). Please keep him in your prayers.

As for me, it has been a rough ride with my c-section recovery. My immune system is recovering and my cuts are healing. I should be out of the hospital somtime tomorrow evening. It is good that they took Mark early as the doctor said my scar from my last c-section ( the inner one on the uterus) wasn't holding very well and could have ruptured. You know it's bad when the old scar hurt more than the new one does now. I absolutely love my pain pills and my hubby. Hubby has been a wonderful trooper throughout it all.

Thank you to all of you. You're a wonderful group of ladies and great support. Hope all of you are well. Take care and God Bless.

It sounds like things are going really well, and I'm so glad to hear that baby Mark is making such good progress. It's been a while since you posted, I'm hoping that you are home now and your whole family is feeling great! Congratulations, and let us know when you get pics up! Well I certainly hope I deliver within a month so we can be on the same "baby development" forum on this site, otherwise I'll be totally bummed!!!

So glad to hear that he is here and doing ok. i hear you on the cestion thing. when I ahd my youngest I decided to sleep on the couch 'cause it was much easier to get up 15 stairs to P than it was to get up out of bed. I can remember looking at my husband and asking him can you remeber how long I felt this way the first time. Anyways glad to hear you are both doing great and am looking forward to maybe seeing a couple pictures of the little guy.
