08-4-2009 - movement and feelings

My mood while writing this blog: getting excited

On 4/4/09 we were on way to get breakfast. Frankie put his hand on my belly and as soon as he did that there was a pretty noticeable thump right where his hand was. I wasn’t for sure it was the baby, since I thought it was to soon, so I wasn’t going to say anything but Frankie was so excited. He couldn’t believe what just happened and even had to ask me, “did you just feel that?” It was such a great experience.

I felt rolling movements the whole next day. I think Frankie was getting a little jealous that he wasn’t able to feel anything to. I haven’t felt anything since but sure hope the little one gets active again, and soon.

It was such a wonderful feeling to have some sort of confirmation that everything was going ok. I have noticed it is hard for me to put so much trust into my body and the baby. It almost hasn’t felt “real” to me yet.

We have our BIG scan on the 13th and really hope the baby isn’t shy. I think once I can start to say He or She instead of it I will relax a bit and fully realize that yes I am having a baby. I can't wait for this day to happen.

So fun! Congrats! I've felt my little one too, but DH hasn't felt it yet... so we're excited about that coming soon hopefully. I know the anxious feeling about waiting to find out the gender... it made it more real for me too :) Good luck w/ everything!
