09-9-2009 - 26 weeks and other random thoughts

My mood while writing this blog:
pretty awesome

Time flies. Pretty sure the third trimester is creeping up...Crazy! Going to be starting the midwife appointments every two weeks! Agh! Having my glucose test on Monday. I opted not to have the test with my last pregnancy, and because of my son's high birth weight (9lbs 12 oz), we decided that maybe we should check this time around. I really feel like I don't have it, but it's really to satisfy my midwifes curiosity.

I've been dealing with some fear lately about the impending birth of this one. My last labor was 29 hours long and i had a big baby...it was pretty intense. I loved my birth experience overall, I had wonderful support and it was so nice to be home for it..I'm just finding out that I have a fear or getting to the point in labor where I don't want to do it any longer and then that point lasting longer than I think I can handle. This point lasted about 4 hours at least with my last birth. I know I can do it. I have faith in God and my body that I will make it through, I'm just having mental hurdles. I am going to read Birthing From Within and do some processing with my doula to see if it helps alleviate my stress.

Feeling pretty good. Having heartburn. Hip pain surpisingly too...not as hungry in the evenings due to my rising tummy...

Totally in love with this baby and completely grateful for my family.

i think we all have worries about having baby. i had that point too to where it told them i was done & couldn't do it any longer. for some reason i thought that if i told them to make it stop they could. lol. so wrong was i. haha. but i'm sure you'll do great!! glad you're feeling good. i'm not doing too bad. i just feel so huge. lol. it's hard to do alot anymore. i feel pretty helpless a lot & it gets hard to breathe. & it's hard to get comfy sitting or lying down. i just can't wait to have baby already.

So nice to hear how you are travelling, sounds like your doing really well.. try and keep your spirits up about your birth.. anything can happen and its 'somewhat' out of our control.. all that we can control is how we mentally & physically deal with it.. ive been going through similiar feelings although its probably easier for me being first time around, i really dont know 'that' pain!! It is of great comfort to me that im having my doula and a supportive midwife team and i believe from memory, you have the same arrangement.. and the same way of thinking! :) From everything you've told me so far, i think your in a great headspace and will breeze through your labour.. just try and keep positive and read up all your relaxation, and coping techniques.. trust in your body, she is pretty amazing !!! hugs xx
