| 04-9-2009 - Fertility Appt #2 | My mood while writing this blog:Sleepy |
Funny thing this past weekend. My doctor had told me to take OPK's until I got a surge and then call or text him. So, I started testing on CD10 (this was last Thursday). I received faint lines on my side for Thurs and Friday and then on Saturday there was nothing. IDK what happened but I just assumed I received my surge earlier in my cycle, I usally get it on CD10 or earlier anyway. So I had planned on calling the doc on Monday to let him know. Funny thing is that Sunday evening the doctor called ME...I am so shocked at how much attention he is giving our situation. So, I told him about the OPK results and he sounded bummed and said that next cycle I should start on CD8. After getting off the phone I realized I hadn't tested on Sunday at all so I decided what the heck-I have a million OPK's that I got off the internet I might as well just check. So, I did my business on the stick and BAM!!! There was a positive right away--What the heck is going on I wondered. So I texted the doc and he calls me back and laughs about the irony. He then advises that I come in Monday at 4pm for an ultrasound and a post colloidal test but in order to do the post colloidal it ment that DH and I had to get it on 3-5 hours before the appt. HAHA I work all day and DH is in school all day but we found some time and did the baby dance at noon on Monday.
So, I get to the doc and he asks with a huge grin on his face "Did you get your nooner in?" Funny man! He is so nonchalat about the whole thing-cracks me up. So, we go about the procedures and discover that there were only like 3 spermies in my CM that they collected from my uterus...so that is the rough news but we can deal right? Then they did the ultrasound and found 1 15 mm follical ready to release any time. (So I think to myself that if there were only 3 spermies in that CM they collected PUT THEM BACK IN THERE TO GET THE JOB DONE!! ha...
Anyway, moral of the story...due to a blood test that they did last cycle I am slightly low on progesterone and my uterus lining wasn't as thick as it should be (which is also due to progesterone) So, I am now taking progesterone until AF or PG happens this cycle then I call the doc again and we decide what to do from here. I don't know what to do about the sperm situation but I am sure that they will have a plan..DH was pretty upset about this news but it only takes one sperm right? And the 3 they said they saw were nice large healthy ones--less frequent sex, more water, and a multi-vitamin (I think I am going to get that Fertil Aid for men that I seen online).
Sorry this is so long..been a strange cycle that is for sure maybe it is a sign that things are finally working themselves out. So, I hope everyone is enjoying their September so far and good luck to us TTCers. As for you little ladies (JUDE) that are about to pop or are PG-take care and keep us posted on your progress.
