30-1-2010 - Just an Update

Ha! I noticed that I haven't updated in a while and just figured in case anyone would like to know how things are going for me I figured that I would fill you in...

I am still under the care of my acupuncturist and have been receiving treatments roughly every 2-3 weeks. I feel amazing most of the time and the time that I don't...well that is because AF showed up LOL! I have had some pretty significant break throughs with my treatment these last two cycles and am really excited about it. Prior to treatments I would receive my +OPK around CD 10 which put me ovulating around CD11-12ish. Although this can be great for some it wasn't ideal for me (I was only having a 25 day cycle) since my progesterone was so low and estrogen so high. Basically as you may already know this is bad because the follicle doesn't have time to mature in a short amount of time and with the low progesterone levels even if we had been lucky enough to catch the "good" follicle my uterine lining would have not been adequate for implantation. So, the main course of action for my acupuncture was to lengthen my cycle and get my hormone levels in balance so that I can produce a healthy egg and have an "ideal" environment for it to implant.

I am happy to report that I have had a 26 day cycle and have gotten my +OPK on CD13 which makes me ovulate somewhere between CD13-15 which is AMAZING! I have temped the last cycle and this current one and sure enough my progesterone levels are staying up! My acupuncturist is almost as happy as I am! I have only been receiving treatments and drinking an herbal tea daily. That is it!

I am out of my mind excited to see these changes and so hopeful that when our little baby decides to join us that I will have the most comfortable environment in which to carry him/her. I truly feel that we are close.

Hay mamagris, thanks for the update, it's too funny i think we are going through a similar thing with our cycles, i was having short cycles and getting a pos opk day 10, and now ive started temping and getting a pos ovulation on cd 13 and my cycle is 25 days now, and i too have started some treatment similar to yours, i've started cupping, which is simiar to acupuncture... i'm so excited you are feeling some progress with your cycles, hopefully your bfp is just around the corner ;)
