22-7-2009 - Hard Adjusting to the world of PINK

My mood while writing this blog: nervous

Okay so i have always been, "kinda" girly. i like getting my nails and hair done, dressing cute, etc etc, but i was also an athlete in shcool and had no problem getting a little dirty too. i am the mother of a beautiful little boy who i adore, My son is ALL BOY!! and for a long time if was just me and him, untill i married my current husbnd.(his deadbeat sperm donor was never around, when we were together, and definitly not since i kicked his butt to curb) but anyway my point is i am now well versed in dirt, bugs, GI JOES, monsters etc etc and whatever else rough and tumble attitude or hobby he is currently into. Im good at it, in fact i LOVE it. i do have a very girly niece and i can have fun with her too yet find her "tea parties" and painting her nails tedious and boring! and playing dolls with her feels akward and dumb yet i have no problem, playing monsters or army guys with my son??????

This creates a problem, since i am currently 7/12 mo pregnant with a girl!!! i am so excited to be a mommy again, and even more excited that i will have one of each. my mom and i have a super close relationship so im excited to have that experience with my own daughter, i fear however i will be a terrible boring mommy to a little girl............another thing is, i like pink, in fact its one of MY favorite colors, but the amount of pink clothes, toys, furniture etc etc that is pink for girls is overwhelming. i cant find ANYTHING that i like that is in normal colors that doesnt look like they are stricktly for boys.....its like the only girly stuff HAS to be made in PINK, WHY!!!!! her closet just looks like its puked pink, and everything has these stupid cartoon looking bunnies and butterflies on it. I dont know maybe it wont be so bad and im just starting to stress out a little bit. because baby is getting closer to being here and i have so much to do. but have any of you felt like this?

maybe im only cut out to be a mommy to little rough and tumble boys?
