Just wanted to update whats been going on. Well, this past weekend, after
Christmas, I had a long weekend full of contractions that were very painful and coming about 3-5 min apart at intervals. I did not want to be put in the hospital again, so I suffered the weekend and called my Dr on Monday and they told me to come in to the office, but before I made it there, they called me back and told me to go straight over to L&D at the hospital...PHOOEY!!!! They monitored me and did a fetal fibronectin (which was positive) and measured my cevical length again. It was 3.0 this time. The doc says that since my last cervical length a week earlier was 3.4, the contractions weren't strong enough to cause alot of dilation, but they had me go back into the office on Tuesday to measure again. On Tuesday, the midwife redid the fetal fibronectin and phsically checked my cervix instead of measuring with the ultrasound. She said it felt ok and the 2nd test was negative. I will go back, not this Monday, but next for another crevical length ultrasound and another fetal fibronectin. This is a friggin emtional roller coaster not knowing! It is so early for my little man to be trying to come. I will start steriods when I go back on Monday too, to try to make sure the baby's lungs will be developed enough when he is born. I have been thru this before but it doesn't make it any easier.
