03-3-2009 - back to opting for cesarean

My mood while writing this blog:
confizzled o_O

ok...so i went to the doctors today and went thru the routine...towards the end of it i asked about the whole VBAC thing and what he thought of it and basically now im back to "what to do?" so he told me that like 5 yrs ago they pushed for a VBAC bc it was thought to be safer with a ratio of like 1/1000 chance of ripping, but recently they did another study and found that it was 1/250 and that its more dangerous for the baby also bc if i do end up ripping open the baby might die bc they might not be able to get him out fast enough... o_O so im starting to think that a cesarean will for sure be my best bet..he's going to check me next week to see if im dilating then we'll go from there....he said i could keep my options open but im hesitant...i really dont want to lose this baby especially after the first few months scare when i thought he wasnt even going to thrive... it might be better this way either way bc im having a tubal too...so yea...im pretty sure this is what is going to happen...now we'll just have to pick a date out of a hat....the doctor said they can deliver a week before his due date...hmm...so much to think about?!?!?!?

Have the Vag birth, if you are getting your tubes tied you should give yourself the experience if you can. My sister in law had a VBAC with no complications - and she birthed at her home while living in India with no doctors there to muddle things up.... your body knows what to do!

I think i would go w/the c-section to be safe. And like u said ur having ur tubes tied anyway & this way they can do it all at one time.. and how exciting to pick ur date!

yea it sounds safer...i would just go with c-sec and get the tubal and be done with! i hope u make the best decision...it must be nice to pick a day out of a hat and know thats wut to look forward to...instead the rest of us are anticipating an "any day" day to day lol

If you're going to have a tubal, I would just go ceasarian, they are going to be opening you up anyway. This way you know your LO is going to be safe :]
