31-7-2009 - re-lactation

My mood while writing this blog:

alright so i quit breastfeeding bc of latching issues but now that jr is older *4 months* i would like to try again....i felt so heartbroken and earlier i made a comment *just to be funny* that i was thinking about it again but after thinking about it i think i really do want to try again...they say you can do it successfully and that even moms who have adopted a child can lactate by inducing it...what do you guys think?

hi :) let me know how it goes. i had to exclusively pump for my lo but stopped because so stressful. my lo would never latch without a nipple sheild. when i tried as she got older to latch her on (after a month of bottles) she seemed to not have a rooting reflex. i still think it would be possible to teach then to latch - but i think at their age now it would be more of a learning process versus instinctual (like when they are newborn). good luck :)

ok i googled relactation to learn a bit more...wow...so cool...didnt know it was possible...just google relaction and you'll get tons of info and tips. one article i read said that domperidone was not available in the states but that's not true.,.i got it...but not at a coventional pharmacy the doc sent my script to an apocathery. good luck with this :-)

I haven't heard of it but I give you my full support. I know how heartbreaking the whole nusing thing can be...I have gone through so much myself. I took a very $$$ prescription called Domperidone that did increase my milk supply drastically and kept it increased and I only took it for a few days...not sure if it would start you from scratch. Please let me know how it goes ...I give you my full support!
