My mood while writing this blog: blah |
so i tried re-lactation on monday and ended up getting dreadfully sick...i mean laying on your back, only have time for the baby sick...i got a fever, low grade, the sniffles and the nose that you had to chase after before it ran down your face. i lived on toilet paper and comtrex...i tried to put fenugreek in my coffee but it was like drinking coco wheats...and my throat was too sore to take the horse pills so im going to do it again tomorrow all over again...except now i have a regimen...3 caps 3 x a day and pumping 15 mins on each side every 2 hrs...also trying to get jr to latch all over again...i might have to go out and buy the shield again...but thats the jist...one failed attempt...but back on the road to breastfeeding...i hope it doesnt take too long though i guess it can take a month or longer just to bring in your supply and then you have to increase it!!! o_O oh my!!!
question: anybody know anything about attachment parenting with an older child? im talking about preschool age child?!?!?

Wednesday, 7 Oct Hi hon...what happened with the relactation??? us2girls -
Friday, 7 Aug i feel i should warn you about the nipple sheilds. i had to use them and went too long with them without training to the real boob at the same time and she just never was able to latch - it was the ultimate nipple confusion!!! your baby should be large enough now to latch to even a larger size nipple. i would just try as much as possible to teach you lo to use the real nipple. if you have to use a sheild train to the real nipple before/during/or after almost every feeding. they have to get used to being on your boob and feeling the real nipple. i had such a bad experience i will not use nipple sheilds if i have another baby or will use them with intensive training at the same time. they put warning labels on nipple sheild packaging - now i know why. unfortunately since she would never take my boob without the sheild, when she finally got older and more appetite she went on a total nursing strike because the shield slowed down the flow too much (one of their uses is to slow down the flow for mothers whose flow is too fast). since my flow was on the slower side already it was like torture for her to use the sheild. ended up exclusively pumping for 3 months for her - a nightmare i would not wish upon anyone - definitely the hardest way to feed your baby!!!! anyway - i wish you the best of luck with your endeavor :) sunnymom -
Friday, 7 Aug Don't know anything about "attachment parenting" but then I just Google everything?Just curious...did your Ob say that Fenugreek and pumping would be enough to bring your supply back? Not so sure about the nipple shields...that's part of what messed up my supply. But if you can't get baby to nurse any other way.....I guess you have to.Sorry you were so sick...that is tough with kids..glad you are getting better :-)
