10/09/08
WEIGHT :3lb 12oz
TIME : 2.22pm
TUESDAY 9th SEPTEMBER 2008
I woke up with water treakling down my leg, i rushed to the toilet thinking it was just me peeing myself, i noticed it was clear but thought nothink ov it as it was 5am and i was still half asleep. I dried off and got back in to bed, woke up 10 minz later and my pj bottoms were soaked again.I had a shower and could still feel dribbles slipping out. I was really confused as i am not due until november. I got out the shower and it was still poring out. I rang the maternity day care unit and explained everythink what had happend, they said come up so they can check me over. When i got up to the day unit the midwife strapt me 2 a heart monitor for 20 minz to hear the heartbeat and to see if i was having contractions.I had to press a little button everytime the baby moved. The nurse took me in a room and checked me over, she confirmed my waters had broke. I had to have a steroid injection in my left leg they took blood and booked me a scan for wednesday 10th september too see how much water i had lost. I was given a course ov antibiotics to take for 10 days for the risk ov infection because im only 30 weeks. they told me to go back to the day unit on wednesday 10th september for another steroid injection in my right leg to help the babys lungs if she was to be deliverd at 30 weeks. The nurse explained that if she was to be deliverd in the next couple of days, she would have to go in to special care baby unit. She took us down to S.C.B.U and showed us were chloe would be when she arrives.
Tuesday 9th September 2008 & Wednesday 10th september 2008
Didn't sleep to good through the night just lying awake thinking i could have my little girl at the weekend. Baby is moving about like there is no tomorow lol But now i guess its just a waiting game.
7.00am - I started to get little twigly pains, just like cramp (period pains).I went in the shower and got dressed by the time i got out of the shower the pains were getting stronger and lasting longer.
8.30am - I went to the toilet and noticed specs of blood, i rang the delivery suit they told me to come straight up.
9.30am - I got to hospital the midwife (Gemma) showed me in to a little room, I changed in to my nighty and climed into the bed the midwife came and strapped machines on my belly to monitor contractions & babys heart beat.
11.00am - The pains were starting to get stronger and lasting longer, i could feel her pushing down felt like i wanted to have a poo lol
12.30pm - I was 4cm dialated and the pains were getting a lot stronger, i kept getting the urge to push. The midwife gave me the Gas & Air it was amasing best thing ever. I felt so drunk lol its like i was floating around the room.
1.00pm - I was starting to get a little nervous and anxious to see my baby girl.
What would she look like? Will she be ok?
After all she is only 30 weeks.
1.45pm - Midwife came in the room with a trolley with all her gadgets on lol
They were gonna deliver her now. she washed her hands and put her gloves on EEEEK..
I just thought this is it, I am gonna be a mammy : )
2.00pm - Everytime i felt a contraction i had to push.
I was so scared incase i had a poo haha
After 15 minz her head was sticking out, next big push and i felt a little burning sensation her head was out. The midwife said to me on the next contraction big push, but i didn't need to she wiggled out.
ARRIVAL - 2.22pm
CHLOE LOUISE SMITH
WEIGHT - 3lb 12oz
There she was lying infront of me, she was so tiny.
Because chloe was born at 30 weeks, she has to go straight under heat lamps to keep her warm.
There was two baby doctors standing at the side ov me waiting for the Gemma (midwife)
to cut the cord so they could get her straight under the heat lamps. Another midwife wheeled a incubator in to the room. All as i wanted was to hold my little girl in my arms, give her a big cuddle.
The baby doctor handed chloe to me and it was like time stopped and it was just me and chloe in the room those couple ov seconds when she was in my arms were amazing, she looked right in to my eyes.
The doctor came and took her to put her in the incubator and off to S.C.B.U.
Broke my heart only getting to hold her for seconds, then watching her being wheeled away in the incubator
Chloe was in hospital for 3 weeks and 2 days
She is fit and healthy.
THANK YOU TO EVERYONE FOR ALL YOUR ADVICE AND SUPPORT.
