10-10-2008 - LEG CRAMPS!!! PAIN PAIN PAIN!!!

My mood while writing this blog:
SORE

So, I'm sleeping last night and kind of in my sleep I stretch my legs only to feel the worst pain ever in my right calf. I started shaking, yelling and flopping around like a dad gum fish in the bed. My husband woke up and just started looking at me like I was crazy and I was seriously about to cry it hurt so bad. I stood up out of bed and the pain started to lessen and then got well enough for me to go back to sleep... UUUgghhh it was HORRIBLE!! All day long it's been hurting and I've been trying not to look like I'm hobbling around. I asked my mother about it and she was like oh yeah and described to me exactly what I felt, she too had this happen when she was pregnant. And, my bff did too... So, consider yourself warned. And, lucky if it doesn't happen to you. It happened to my mom while she was in labor and she kept yelling from the pain of the cramps, not from her contractions. I hope that part doesn't run in the family too. The things we discover when we're growing a little person inside of us... I just hope this doesn't happen again.. cross your fingers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh my GOD. I had leg cramps when I was pregnant with my son 4 years ago and couldn't bear them. This pregnancy it has happend ONLY once and hopefully it won't happen again. I feel for you. Good Luck.....

lol i got the leg cramps during labor also, and that was so painful, i knew a contraction was comming because my leg cramp would hurt more. now that was veryyyyy painful. i thought of it hurts

ahhh you poor thing! bananas are supposed to be good for cramps or any thing with high amounts of potassium x

lol i no that pain very well. legs cramps OUUUCH i got them before i was pregnant but heres a tip that works
it may seem hard as ur in so much pain. but if u stand up as soon as u feel the pain and put your foot flat on the floor it should go. it does actually work :) but my lord ot really is the worst pain in the world isnt it.

so yes putting ur foot flat on the floor deffo works i do it every time and it goes pretty quick :) xxx

i felt that pain earlier, before having my bump, i had it twice on my first tri..now i sleep with a big extra soft pillow under my legs and it doesnt happen anymore...I hate that feeling...it hurts too bad, like something has been twisted inside and makes it worst when u try to get up

Lol! That exact same thing happened to me about three nights ago! I couldn't move it at all I was just laying there yelling. So my husband, quick thinker that he is, started rubbing it and it totally helped. Mine hurt the next day too, and it was the same calf! Maybe you could let your hubby know that it can happen again (my MIL had it too) and that he could help by rubbing it out or, in my MIL case, having him bend your foot towards your shin to stretch the calf (since you can't, you will be stuck).

I had this while pregnant with my second daughter. My husband said it might have been a 'charlie horse'? If it gets bad enough,have a heating pad around or have your hubby rub it out for you. I hope that helps some. :)

ah yah yah girl...I know exactly what you're talking about. I get them all the time. My legs even feel numb sometimes even just from sitting on the couch and watching TV. The things we go thru for our lil angels :-)
