13-12-2008 - FALSE ALARM!! BUT NOW I KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT!

My mood while writing this blog:
sore, relieved, anxious, annoyed

Okay, so here goes! Last night my husband and I had sex. I had heard that there is a chemical in semen that could start contractions. But, didn't really think it would happen. If it did, I would only have a couple of uncomfortable moments and that would be that. Well, I was VERY WRONG!!! About 15 minutes or so after having sex I started having the most horrible back pain. It would last a minute then go away. There was also pain in my lower pelvis area. I got my husband to start timing them. And they were right on 5 minutes every time. Sometimes 4 minutes apart. My water had not broken or anything, so I didn't really no what to do. No bloody show or anything either. I tried to sleep it off, but at 4 o'clock it woke me up it was so bad. They were 3 minutes apart and so I called the hospital and they of course told me to come in. I go to the hospital. They hook me up to the monitors. Lynlee looks great, but my contractions are dead on 3 minutes apart. They check my cervix. NO DIALATION AT ALL!!!!! They couldn't believe it with the contractions having such a pattern and everything. Well, there was no amniotic fluid leaking or anything. They gave me an Iv. They thought if they pumped me full of fluids the contractions might ease up. If they did ease up, it was false labor, if not it was the real thing. They said at this point in the pregnancy they won't do anything to "stop" the contractions, but they won't do anything to help them either. Well, they eased up. I'm still having a few, but nothing like earlier. And, now I know sex causes contractions for sure! I'm not allowed to have sex until my next appt. lol... which is fine!!! It's Tuesday. But, anyways, that's my false labor story and now I atleast know kind of what to expect out of contractions on the real day. It worked out for me b/c I really need to clean my floors before family comes down!!!!! lol

You're the fourth person that I know that that has happened to after sex! Except most of them had their babies. :)
Hubby and I did last night and nothing:( Going to keep trying though. My floors are clean. ;-)

I didnt quite believe it also..that actually happened to me one night after having masturbated..haha sorry if tmi...but the contractions were awful!!!!

funny thas the same thing(minus the sex bc I won't go near husbands manhood) I was and still am contracting 5 min apart..very intense but still only at 2cm. She said they wouldn't stop it or try to speed it up..so here I sit at home...contracting...laboring ...and praying for 2 more cm! haha But atleast we know now what it feels like
