Well, my baby girls were born on Sept 25th. I was 33 weeks and 3 days pregnant. I had NO clue that they were coming that day! I had been taking a bath and stood up to shower off and saw blood everywhere. Of course I totally freaked and called up the hubby to take me to the hospital. We arrived at the hospital @ 11:00 in the morning. My doc showed up about 15-20 minutes later, checked me and I was dilated to 4. Karissa's (baby B) placenta had ruptured so I was taken immediately to have an emergency c-section. Breanne was born @ 12:13 weighing 4lbs 6 ozs and 17 inches long. Karissa followed @ 12:15 and weighed 4lbs even, she was 16 1/2 inches long.

I was in the hospital with them for 5 days total, and they are still there. Both babies are doing wonderful though! Breanne was off oxygen the first night and Karissa followed the next day. I cannot wait to bring my beautiful baby girls home!!!

Breanne was off her IV this morning when I went up to visit the girls! I got to hold them BOTH at the same time! They are one week old today!!! Today has been great and we are going up to hold them again tonight!!!

Haven't been online to update in a while. I have good and bad news. The good news is, Breanne is now out of her Isolette and in a crib! She has eaten all her feedings for 24 hours twice, but then has that ONE feeding that she just can't do. Once she gets it down, she will be coming home! The bad news is Karissa got a little sick last Friday. The Dr thought she might have a bowel infection as there was blood in her stools (this was the scariest thing that has happened so far, I don't think I have ever cried so much) but the cultures came back with NO growth, so no infection!!! She is still off of her feedings, but can resume them on Friday!

All in all, we are doing well! Can't wait for my princesses to come home!!!

Well, the girls are finally home where they belong! They were discharged on Friday the 24th, Breanne is weighing in at 6 lbs and 1 1/2 oz while Karissa is 4 lbs and 13 ozs.

I spent Thursday night "sleeping over" with them in the hospital (if you can call it sleeping.. ha ha ha) and Friday around 1:00 we came home. I knew twins would be work, but boy-o-boy, didn't realize what I was getting myself into! They still need to eat every three hours, and still not up to nursing, so I pump for 15-20 min - clean my pump parts, make bottles from the milk, store the extra milk... change a girl, feed a girl, then burb my sweetheart... then do the same for the next baby. This whole process takes me aprox 2 hours, which leaves me with 1 hour off! OH MY!!!! lol - SO totally worth it though! They are my beautiful baby girls and I have NEVER been happier!!!

The babies had their first well baby check up today!! 5 weeks 5 days old today! Breanne is now 6 lbs 13 ozs, 19 1/2 inches long and Karissa is 5 lbs 4 ozs and 18 inches long. My how they have grown already!

Well, the girls were in for a weight check last Friday and are doing GREAT! Breanne is up to 8lbs 6ozs, 20 1/4 inches long and Karissa is 7lbs 5ozs, 19 inches long. Mommy's milk is doing them WONDERS!!! We finally got the nursing thing down and have had NO bottles for 3 weeks now. Exhaustion levels are decreasing a bit as nursing twins is way easier than bottle feeding... No making bottles, warming milk, and the best part, no WASHING bottles!! Haha Gives a few more minutes for rest anyway! (with twins each minute of rest is very important!)

Breanne is still my lazy little girl, she has the sweetest cry and gorgeous eyelashes! Karissa is my fiery red-head and has the temper to go along with it. She is adorable, but impatient and not willing to wait for her sister most days. Anthony is still proud big brother, but the novelty of the new babies has worn off. I think it will rejuvenate once the girls become more interactive. Anthony turned 8 on the 15th - wow how time flies!

The twins are 16 weeks old now, and I haven't updated this in a LONG time! We are all doing great and adjusting to life with two babies ~ finally! The girls are wonderful nursers now and eat at the same time all day long. Last week Breanne was weighing in at a whopping 11 lbs 5 ozs and Karissa 10 lbs 6 ozs ~ what big girls they are getting to be! They love to coo and smile at me and I feel SO lucky to have the chance to be a SAHM and care for them 24/7. Anthony is enjoying the big brother role more now as the girls just smile at him when he walks into the room. In the evenings, while I make supper, we put the girls in their bouncy chairs in the living room and they watch their big brother rock out to Guitar Hero - its so much fun! We had a friend take some pics of them yesterday and I posted a few in the slideshow below. What an event that was! Trying to get TWO babies to cooperate was something else. Breanne slept through most of it! haha

Time to update! The girls are already 4 months old! I cannot believe how fast time flies~ Amazing! Breanne is now weighing in at 12lbs 1oz, she is 22 1/2 inches long, and her head measures 15 1/4. Karissa is 10lbs 12ozs, 12 3/4 inches long, and her head is 15. It blows my mind that they are this big already, and also makes me think how crazy it is that they are 4 months old, and just now, the size my son was when he was 1 month old.

Breanne has such a little attitude lately, I could just gobble her up. She LOVES to smile at her brother, he amuses her greatly. I think it makes him feel pretty proud too.. he enjoys showing off his talents at getting her to laugh. Great fun for all I think! Yesterday I was cooking supper and happened to pass the hallway, looked down and saw him sitting in front of the girls singing "The Itsy Bitsy Spider". I stopped everything and just watched. It was a feeling I had never had before - I was SO in love with ALL of them! Of course, Anthony could "sense" me watching and caught me. He quit singing and got embarrassed... I don't know why, but I will try not to let him catch me watching him again, those girls were loving it (and I am positive he was too!)

Karissa has such an attitude lately as well - these two will keep me young, thats for sure! I love them so much. I have been feeling a little guilty lately about Karissa though... Breanne has been sickish this last week and VERY fussy... since Daddy is working out of town and I am home alone with them, Breanne got held alot more than Karissa. I try to make special time to cuddle with Karissa which has been going ok. The only reason I even wrote that is to remember that this was the first time I felt like I wasn't holding them/paying attention to them equally. I hope I can fight that off in the future. The last thing I want to do is have my babies not feeling equal~

We are getting into a good routine now, which is SO nice. I actually feel like I have time to get things accomplished! The girls nurse at the same time now, which is a HUGE time saver - I am SO thankful I decided to breastfeed the twins, I can't imagine having to make bottles and wash bottles... Problem is: the girls now will not take a bottle *sigh* Oh well, something I have till May to get accomplished - because May 9th Zac and I are finally getting Married!!! WHOO HOOO

Well, my baby girls are 6 months 1 day old today! My how the time has flown. I can't hardly believe it! At 6 months old Breanne is weighing 14lbs 5 ozs, she is 23 1/2 tall. Karissa is now 12lbs 1ozs and is 22 7/8 tall. The girls are in the 10th percentile of the growth charts and are small for their age, but they were born 7 weeks premature - and are doing AMAZING now! The finally made it to the growth chart in month 5! HAHA - I was SO proud!

We are still exclusively breast feeding and for 6 months and 1 day, my girls have not received anything but mama's milk! What an accomplishment! I must say that it IS nice now that their tummys are bigger and they don't need to eat as often.... I love breastfeeding my babies!!!

The girls have finally BOTH started sleeping throughout the night, well, for almost a week and a half now anyway, they sleep in the same crib, but at different ends.... They usually squiggle their ways to each other by morning, its very cute... but they lay down by 9:30 and have been sleeping till 6:00, then eat and back to sleep till about 8. I am totally loving this!!!!! This first 6 months have been one hell of a challenge, and I am starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.... MAYBE, just maybe, I am getting down the art of being a mom to multiples!!! 2 points for me!

Breanne has started a new "trilling" feature to her cry this last week, its pretty pathetic... hehee. She is 2 lbs bigger than her sister and it really shows! Daddy started calling her porkchop and I noticed her brother calling her that yesterday... sure hope that nickname doesn't stick! Karissa is obsessed with sucking her hands... It is all she wants to do, and heaven forbid you even try to interrupt it! Its sometimes a fight a milkin time.... hope its not teeth coming!!!

Zac and I have been super duper busy getting ready for this wedding. I can't wait for it to be over! I am looking forward to it, but things are getting bigger and bigger, my mother - gotta love her! Anyway, thought I should do a quick update since my girls are 1/2 a year old!!! Gotta go - feeding time is on again!
