27-10-2009 - my 20 wk u/s

My mood while writing this blog:
a little bit sad

My 20 week ultrasound had to be rescheduled :( I brought my kids with and the girls just were no good. They both started crying and my son was no help to them. The lady couldn't concentrate and pretty much told me we had to go and come back again, without the kids. I could have just cried. I was so excited for this and to have it put off just broke my heart. After we left, I became SUPER embarrassed... jeesh, that lady with the gazillion crying kids... I can only imagine what they were thinking...

DH is working out of town again (mon -thurs) which he will prob be doing until March. I haven't even talked to him tonight because they work crazy OT when out of town.. only a few texts.. I just feel like crying my eyes out. I have cried a few times tonight... and I am hungry (poor me- hehe)

Trying to be positive though... I rescheduled our apt till Friday so Zac will be back in town.. he will prob be working, but at least can leave for a few hours to come with me. My friend is going to watch the girls, so on Friday, I should be able to post the pics I was wanting to post today.... Since I can't share the baby, I will share my 20 week tummy... I gained 4 lbs last month alone, but a HUGE total of 17 all together!! I will prob end up bigger with this pregnancy (weight wise) than I was with the twins. I still had 20lbs to lose before pre-pregnancy weight when I got preggo with this one! Ahhh well... at least my body is creating something wonderful so it will all be worth it in the end!!

btw - vanilla tootsie rolls are an excellent mood enhancer! Have a good night ladies!!

Aw. I guess I'm overly emotional because after reading your post my eyes are watering. I almost had to bring my four youngest children. 7months, 16months, almost 3 and 4 to the ultrasound, fortunately one of my sisters said she'd babysit, which was great! The little cousin that I have screams an ear shattering scream that causes real pain, all the time, and it's really hard for us to deal with, so anyone not used to children would probably have a heart attack. Hope you have an awesome appointment next time around. Hugs. A

I'm so sorry things didn't go better. I think the lady could have tolerated the girls and finished the ultrasound for you. Didn't they have a lollypop sucker or something to give them? I'm really glad you don't have to wait too long to go back. I look forward to seeing your ultrasound pic!

People should be more patient! it's not your fault that your babies cry and that u/s lady should know that! I hate how people act like we are bad or annoying because our children are children! hope your next appt goes better!!!! :D

So sorry to hear that, leave it to your kids to embarass you, it is very fustrating espically when you know how good they can be. what a great belly pic!!! i know how you feel about beinf bigger this time around, i have already put on 20 pounds and i tell you i feel like none of it is my belly. I hope everything goes well with your next u/s and it will be great for you to have hubby there.

I'm scared the same thing will happen to me. My u/s is next Monday and I have to bring all 5 of my kids including the twins who are now 16 months old and a handful to say the least. My hubby is supposed to make it, but he's in the Air Force and only made it to ONE of my Dr.s Appt.s with the twins. Good luck on Friday!!

sorry to hear that.. but look at it on the bright side.. your hubby will be in town next time! I know how emotional we get before seeing our babies in an ultrasound... =(

my u/s is thursday and i'm still trying to arrange a sitter!! it's hard when you have other kids isnt it? my kids have a week off school for half term so it's gonna be hard getting someone to watch them. your belly pic is a lot healthier than mine lol, i dread to think about how much weight i've put on....i look huge!!! i always go really big though,and i'm a big girl anyway so losing the baby weight will be fun. good luck for friday,i'm sure it will be worth the wait xx
