15-7-2008 - Dr.s appt 7/14/08

So I went to the Dr. today. My first OB visit. WE just did the normal questions with the family history. I didn't have to do a pap because I just had one 3 months ago. Whoo hoo!!! We got to hear the heartbeat. It was in the 160's again. There was a little noise and he said that was movement. She/he would move and the Dr. would have to get the heartbeat again. I go back in a month and we will do a ultrasound there to see if we can see what it is. I personally wanted it to be a suprise just that feeling at the end not knowing and then the Dr. being like it's a-----------, excites me! My husband is the one who wants to know what it is for money purposes. I'm just hoping the Dr. won't be able to see. Cross your legs bean!!!! But anyways, everything seemed good. Off to week 13 on Thursday. I can't wait to start feeling the full blown kicks!!! Good luck to everyone else!!!

How exciting! You must be so thrilled. I wasn't sure I wasn't to know the gender of my baby this time either-- had found out with the other two and really thought a surprise would be nice for my last chance. My extremelye practical husband, however, wanted to know so we could know if we could re-use all the baby girl things from last time, and so we could cut out arguing over 50% of the names on our list!! My doctor, listening to us go back and forth on this, wrote a prescription on her pad for my husband to fill. It said, "Baby's gender information must be *purchased* with jewelry for mommy!" Suddenly, finding out didn't seem so bad any more, and now I have TWO exciting things to look forward to... one that wears diapers and one that sparkles when the light hits it!
