23-7-2008 - it's simple, i'm in love

My mood while writing this blog: overjoyed

Yup, I said it…I’m head over heals, stare deep into my soul, do anything for you LOVE.

I had my second Dr’s appointment yesterday and…drum roll….I got to hear my peanut’s heartbeat. (big sigh) I’m in love J I almost cried…but I don’t want my doc to think she’s dealing with a softy – haha. However, after my appointment, in my awe, I went grocery shopping. As I wandered down the cereal isle, beaming with joy, I saw a young couple. They had stopped in the middle of the isle (no other customers were around) and both of them were leaned over the cart. As I walked by, I curiously glanced inside only to find a beautiful baby. He was laughing hysterically at his parents who were making the most ridiculous faces. I strolled passed, I smiled and then they came…giant, salty crocodile tears. No sniffles, no puffy eyes, no choking up – just a few cut loose and made there way down my face. Words can’t describe how delighted I’ve become to the idea of being a mom. I am on cloud nine.

Also….I’m in love with Bag Balm. Natalie2, I could kiss you all over your face! I love that it doesn’t have a weird perfumy or flowery or sweet smell. And I love how thick and waxy it is…it’s like a protective coating for my belly! Itches beware, there’s a new hero in town and he’s here to destroy you – hahahahahaha (evil laugh) Oh, the best part…the lady at Walgreen’s told me she uses it for her infants diaper rashes and it “works wonders”. Perfect.

Another superific detail from yesterday…last softball game of the season and we won. Not only did we win last night – we took first in our league! T-shirts and trophies for all! Hooray! I hit three singles and made two outs (in right field)…and boy are my knees & hips sore today. I’m thrilled I was able to finish with my team and that we played so well this year. We’ve been playing together for four years…but this was our year…finally all the hard work (and by hard work, I mean countless hours of BBQ’s, darts and Tigers baseball) paid off. I’ll make sure to post the team pic when I get a copy.

Oh, aaaannd…man, yesterday was an AWESOME day…Jake and I were able to pick up our kitchen table. We had ordered it in like May and it finally arrived. Yay, no more eating at the coffee table!
