25-8-2008 - drinkin water at an open bar

My mood while writing this blog: not hungover

although august was fun...boy, I'm glad it's almost over.

8.2 dinner at a pub...$30, tickets to wicked (in row j - center stage!)...$175, gas to Lansing...$20, spending my birthday with my best friend & lover, laughing and holding hands...priceless. oh yeah, and the show was amazing - costumes were beautiful, the set was jaw-droppingly awesome, the singing - spectacular, the story - witty & unpredictable.

8.14 we jammed to the jazzy, funky beats of keb'mo at fredrick meijer gardens. the venue was packed, but actually quite comfortable - the outside fresh air made it seem not as stuffy as an indoor venue. we brought our meijer brand soda and red fleece blanket and relaxed (we did dance a little to the last song)

8.22-8.24 back to good'ol lansing...this time jake went on a gambling/golf outing with a friend and i met up with some friends for a wedding. it was so nice to see naomi for a weekend - she moved to indiana a few years ago and even though the drive is only 6 hours, we don't see each other as much as we used to. either way, it was fun to hang with her and catch up - this was the first time she'd seen me since i got knocked up...and you know, i'm a little disappointed that she didn't once comment on the bump i've grown. i talk to her at least once a week, and as far as i knew she was excited for me, she even bought a bag full of baby clothes she gave me this weekend....hmmmm? so, i was the responsible DD for the weekend - which was highly entertaining on friday night, and abnormally annoying on saturday night. i was a trooper though - i haven't stayed up that late two nights in a row in months! but deep down, i couldn't wait to get home and cuddle with my boys in the quiet of my own home.

oh...it's 5:30 - time to go home :P
