| 25-11-2008 - weebles wobble but they don't fall down | My mood while writing this blog:cautious |
Yesterday came the first significant snowfall of the year. And ole Mother Nature didn’t lead us leisurely into winter. Just last week landscapers were working on fall clean-ups; yesterday there was enough snow for plow trucks to be out and about. “I’m dreaming of a white Thanksgiving?” (this doesn’t sit well with me) Along with the flakey snow, comes the slips and slides of icy sidewalks and parking lots. Now…I know…at least it’s not mid-summer, 90 degrees and I'm eight months preggers…I heard how awful that would be, and I’m not complaining. However; I’m a little concerned about the mid-winter storms combined with the unbalanced waddle I’ve acquired. I’ve been considering ski polls for a x-mas present to assist me from building to car and car to building.
I am really looking forward to the four-day weekend; Woo Hoo! Thanksgiving is by far my favorite holiday, there is nothing better than good food and good company. Now, if only the Lions can get their poop in a group and win… Recently, I noticed that my meal portions are becoming smaller and smaller. Hopefully, this won’t interfere too much with my t-giving intake. I read that other women are also experiencing this and I’m attributing it to the baby getting big and not allowing room for an expanded stomach.
Baby showers are overwhelming and exhausting. And when you leave, you feel loved and comforted and so appreciative. My family threw us a traditional shower...the food was delicious, the games were kind of fun, the gifts were incredible...the one thing I wish is that I had more time to "catch up" with some family I don't see very often. It all happened so fast and then everyone was gone. Jake's friends had us over last weekend for the U of M / Ohio State match up and a small shower. This type of co-ed shower was superb. Again, the food was tasty, the gifts were beloved and the company and conversations were relaxing and pleasant. Needless to say, I've been sleeping like a rock after these events and boy does it feel good!
**take care** and for those of you in the mid-west snow belt...walk safely!
