27-12-2008 - i've got perma-grin

My mood while writing this blog: harmonious

For me Christmas day 2008 will be forever in my heart. After a day of visiting here and eating there and driving around to the various family gatherings...Jake and I were whipped. With a tipsy Jake next to me, non-Christmas music on the radio and an exhausted glaze in my eyes, I drove home. Once comfortably settled in, we snuggled up on the floor in Baby's room. We laughed at different stories from the day but mostly just enjoyed the peaceful silence that consumed us. I remember saying something like, let's make sure not to fall asleep with the lights on. Then Jake started to talk extra mushy, which I first attributed to the alcohol, then realized that he was reaching into his pocket...and with a small black box and four words, "will you marry me?", he melted my heart. In awe of the diamond (I've never received nor bought my own diamonds) and completely speechless, all I could do was beam a gigantic smile.

I said yes.
