First, thanks for the encouraging words regarding the battle between my brain and the Medela. I'm happy to announce that I have conquered the black bag that taunted me!

Keep in mind, while out and about, if you need a nursing pit stop, Babies R Us has a private nursing room in the back of all its stores... Maybe Toys R Us are the same?? Me, I sit down, put my jacket on backwards, have Shawn hand Augustin to me after letting down a tank flap (these keep your tummy covered and are so much more discrete) get him on (he can self-latch now: SO much easier!) and keep strolling the store. People look at me and smile, "Oh, baby sleeping?" Enter cute mama-style smile and a little lie: "Sure." BUT, the mamas who have breastfed: they know. They never say anything but always give a wistful nod. I already know I'll be one of them; once he weans I know I'll miss the intimacy!

First, thanks for the encouraging words regarding the battle between my brain and the Medela. I'm happy to announce that I have conquered the black bag that taunted me!
I'm equally as excited to share that Jaina, at six weeks one day, has successfully drank her first bottle of breast milk. It was her first attempt and she didn't even hesitate as my mom introduced the new feeding method. I'm so proud of her! This means a. Jake & I can get a babysitter and have a date night and b. I won't feel so uncomfortable when we take her out (public breastfeeding isn't quite my style). This also means going back to work is right around the corner for me - yikes, time really does fly when you're having fun.
