12-1-2009 - We are going to Florida!!

Me and Gracie are going on vacation in March to Florida to visit my grand parents, Grace's Gigi and Papa!!! I am super excited i just booked our flight today!! But i am kinda nervous about flying with a 1 year old by myself. I only got one ticket so she will have to sit on my lap and she is kinda hyper at times so i am scared that she will not want to sit there with me!!! but she is a good child for the most part so i know that she won't be like crying the entire time! But i did want some advice from Mommas who have traveled with babies around a year old!!?? Any special tricks i should know? How do most kids react to flying, like the pressure and what not??? Any thing would help me out greatly! Thank you soooo much!!

My son is only 8 months but we have traveled to Florida actually 3 times since he was 6 weeks old including just 3 weeks ago. (by myself) I've realized... alway sit in the isle seat. He gets occupied playing with people in the seats all around and people love trying to make him laugh. Also, he could care less about his toys when we are on the plane. UNLESS it's brand new. You could give him the Hylands teething tablets before you board too. They make them calm and sometimes sleepy and can't hurt them.

you should give her snacks or maybe a piece of baby rusk...or anything safe to chew when boarding and landing...that's to prevent ache on ears caused by air pressure. if she use pacifier...that will be okay too. have a great holiday :-)
