02-5-2009 - Just Curious

Growing up I have always watched my mom struggle with having such a large chest. I really don't know anybody else with a chest quite the size of hers, she wears a G cup (when she can find one). Otherwise she suffers with a DDD that never fits quite right. As a younger girl, while everybody else was just waiting to have a big chest, I was keeping my fingers crossed mine would just be average. Haha I did not want to go through what my mom struggles with daily.

All through highschool I was a C, which was fine with me. Over the past couple of years I jumped to a D, which was still managable. Pregnancy has now advanced me to a DD. A very full DD. I went bra shopping today, and now I am curious.. why can't big boobies have cute bras too? I always assumed my mom just liked boring, beige or white bras. I have now learned, this wasn't a choice.. it was the only option. I am only 22 and not ready for the granny-style bra. I still want cute, bold colors with polka dots and lace. In the entire bra section, I only managed to find 3 styles that came in a DD. They all looked flimsy and hidden at the back of the rack.

I finally settled for a simple, beige bra, that really didn't fit quite right. Someone needs to come out with a full chested, cute, affordable line of bras. Just becuase I have a large chest, doesn't mean I don't want it to look good.

Fredricks has bigger sizes depending on the store. I sadly will never visit that side of the store but my best freind has something like a E cup or somthing its bigger then any of the D's.. and she has managed to find bra's there.

Ahhh! Someone who feels my pain! I too was a C cup in high school. I gave up some bad habits started packing on pounds about 3 years ago. When I was a C cup, I always wanted to be a DD (but keep my small waist). Now that I have DD's, I just wish they would go away! If I can manage to get within 15 pounds of my C cup weight, and they don't shrink, I will get a reduction.

I went to the Hanes Outlet store. They had sooo many cute bras for everything up to a 38D. After that it's all beige, white and black. Thick straps, super wide back straps. And forget buying anything that will allow to show cleavage. They all come up too high on your chest to wear a low cut shirt. And, no, they never really do fit right. They bunch up under your arms when you lean forward. ARGH! I want a visit from the reduction fairy!

I totally Agree

Pre pregnancy I was a 18 G, huge I know it runs in the family but i was one the one that just didnt stop growing now being 6 months pregnant i really need to go bra shopping as i am spilling out of my G cup bra's but i cant find anything that will fit me anywhere I was looking online yesterday and i can order in lager bra's but i am unsure about buying a bra before trying it on

i wish there were some shops here in Australia that would sell larger bra's as most shops dont stock anything above a G cup and they are always so plain if they do have them

Lane Bryant and Avenue have some really cute bras for larger chested women. Check them out when you get the chance. They both have website too I think.
