09-7-2009 - Just a Little Scare relievedMy mood while writing this blog:
relieved

Well everyone today i went to my routine monthly appt with my doctor and learned that my specialist wanted him to hook me up to a machine to keep track of the baby's heartbeat. Well the heartbeat was strong and normal but the wanted me to click a button evertime i felt the baby move... only one problem i barely ever feel my baby move the only time i feel him is at night around 10:30. Well needless to say they pretty much scared me to death and said that I should be feeling him move all the time. He scheduled me for an emergency ultrasound at the hospital so i went straight from the doctors to do the ultrasound. Thank goodness as soon as he came on the screen my baby was moving like crazy i just do not feel him and he already weighs 2 and a half pounds. So anyways everything is fine now and they made me crazy and made me cry for nothing Dixon is perfectly happy in my belly i just dont feel him move. So I am releived now and back home about to take a nap. Just wanted to give a little update and see if any other women have had this problem

melbabe. I too do not feel the baby move until about 10:30-11:00 at night when I am lying down in bed. My placenta is in the front and I have a few extra pounds on me so I don't really feel much movement during the day, and only when I am lying down.

My baby's placenta is in the front and so I didn't feel him unless it was night and I was laying just right, but now he kicks so much that my belly shakes like jello. Also, I've heard that some babies can lay on a nerve where you will never feel them.

I'm relieved that everything is ok! WHEW load off your shoulders I'm sure :o) He must be a stealthy one in there!

I had to click the button on the machine with my first daughter. They were asking how often she moved and she rarely ever moves. Turns out she's just lazy, she still is 12 years later! Depending on how they are facing, sometimes you just don't feel the movements as much. I'm glad you go to see him on the ultrasound and settle your mind!

That has happened to me too when I was pregnant. They want you to FEEL 10 movements a day. Meaning babies are sleeping ALOT of times. Just like my month old now he sleeps ALOT. So don't worry if you go 2-3 hours of no movement. But if it like 6 or more hours and no movement drink something cold and wait for movement.
