10-9-2008 - hello... hubby!

My mood while writing this blog: Ok

first of all, i want to say THANK YOU to all you sweet ladies who have been so supportive over the past few weeks! your kind comments have been a huge encouragement to me!

i had an ultrasound last week at 14w, 1d, to check the placement of my placenta. my new doctor (who i LOVE!) suspected i had placenta previa, which was causing my bleeding for the past month or so. during the 45 minute ultrasound the hubs and i got to see our perfect little bean jumping around, stretching, and rolling... it was the most exciting and amazing thing i've ever seen. the tech even printed out 21 photos for us to take home! since they requested i come with a full bladder, after 45 of pushing on my tummy, i was more than ready for a potty break! the hubs came into the bathroom with me, and as soon as he shut the door i burst into tears! i was so overwhelmed at our perfect little baby. for the next 20 minutes tears just kept streaming down my face. i wasn't sad, just so overwhelmed with joy and amazement.

so... fast forward to today. i'm now 15 weeks! am i the only one who feels like pregnancy is flying by?! anyways, i got the call from my doctor this morning. she reviewed the results of the ultrasound and found that my placenta is "low-lying", partially covering my cervix (it should be at the tippity-top of your uterus). she feels that this is what is causing my bleeding. however, because it's just low-lying, and not "full", and because i'm so early in the pregnancy, she feels that as my uterus grows, there is a great chance that my placenta will grow upwards with it! my next ultrasound will be in 7 weeks, at 22 weeks prego. i'm dying a little bit, because i'd love to know the sex a lot sooner than that, but i guess i'll just have to get over that for now. anyways, onto the good news; she said i can start slowly integrating excersize & activity back into my life, as well as prenatal yoga (which i've been DYING to do!) also, she said that if we're playing it super conservative, she'd say continue the pelvic rest (no sex) until after the 22 week scan, however, if we have sex and i do not bleed, then we can continue to have sex! i told the hubs this morning and he was cautiously optimistic. he is so nervous about hurting our baby, even though he hasn't had sex in over a month now (because of the pelvic rest- not a mean wife!). he doesn't want to do anything to hurt the little bean! i completely agree, but still think we should give it a try- at least once! so i imagine tonight will be our test run, and i am praying that it goes smoothly! i don't know about you girls, but my libido has definately increased lately!

well, we'll see how everything goes. i'm feeling very happy about the physical activity regaining a spot on my daily schedule. not being able to work out and getting a huge prego belly would not have been a good combo for me. so now i have to look forward to my next ultrasound... in 7 weeks. seems like a lifetime away, but i'm sure it'll be here before i know it. in the meantime, i'm going to occupy my time with getting some excersize, and hopefully having sex with my hubby!
