| 06-4-2008 - The birth story of my 1st born | My mood while writing this blog:content |
I had wonderful pregnancy with my first born. I had no morning
sickness and extra energy every day. I was afraid of the type of pains related to childbirth and I was nervous. I eat a lot when I was
pregnant and gained a total of 60pounds. I started of underweight (105pds) so
the doctors weren't too concerned. When my contractions started, I didn't know
what to do. One minute I would tell my husband it time and the next when the
contraction subsided - I told him I was fine. It was Sunday morning December 10,2006 about 3am when I woke my
husband about ten times going back and forth about whether I was ready to go to the hospital. He got the point when he decided we would
just go to the hospital and see what they would say. On the way to the hospital
the contractions came more frequently. The only thing I could say when we got
to the hospital was epidural. I was preregistered, but at the time only one
doctor was available. I was taken to my delivery room and I was still asking
for the epidural due to the contraction pain.
Finally I received the medication and everything was easy after that.
They broke my water and I was in labor for 10 blissful hours with no pain. I
just laid in the bed and talk to my husband until I was dilated to 10cm. The
nurse checked to see if I could push while still on the epidural and I made
sure I could. They threatened to take the pain medication (epidural) away if I
could not push due to the numbness. The doctor told me to push and I pushed with
every bit of energy I had. I pushed for less then 5 minutes and baby
was out. I was surprised at how long she was -22inches. She must have been packed in my
belly pretty good. She also had chubby cheek and weighed 7 pounds and thirteen ounces. My husband and I were so happy.
Three days later we left the hospital and took our bundle of joy home. Life has been great ever
since. Maya is now 16months old and we are waiting for her brother Jaydon to join the family May 15th 2008.
