| 14-1-2009 - Maui, nursing and thoughts | My mood while writing this blog:contemplative |
Wow, it's been forever since I wrote on here so I thought I should say something. My little Lilybug is 3.5 months old now. I am so in love with her. Words just cannot express how much. I feel honored that God would give me such a precious little girl. I cherish our time together so much. We go for long walks everyday and she loves it. I put her in her ERGO carrier (love it) and we walk for hours. She sleeps most of time we are walking and nurses some of that time and looks around a bit too if we're out long enough. We walked a ton while I was pregnant so I think she's comforted by it. If I'm tired I feel like walking all the more cause she'll just sleep and I feel like I get some rest that way. She has never been a big napper so it's the only way she'll take a long nap. Her naps are usually no more than 40 minutes unless we are walking and our walks usually last for 2+ hours. Yesterday we walked 10 miles. I think it took 4 hours. Usually we don't walk that far but it was nice out and it felt good.
Before I had her I knew that I was going to nurse her for a long time as long as it worked becasue of the serious health benefits for her but I had no idea how precious it was going to be. Wow! It is amazing how sweet it is! Nursing my baby is just the sweetest thing EVER. No one can explain what it feels like if you haven't done it but it is priceless. I am still exclusively nursing her and will continue for as long as I think it's the best thing for her. She's only spit up once and that's cause I did something like bent her over too far or something, I can't remember. She still nurses about every 2-4 hours but at night I nurse her laying down and doze so I don't mind plus night time feeds are 3-4 hours not 2 hours like she sometimes does in the day.
We took her to Maui when she was 2 months old and that was fun. It will be more fun next time since she was not big enough for little swimmers for the pool but I don't know if she would have like the temperature anyway. I can't wait to take her places like that once she's old enough to play in the sand and stuff. For now though she's just happy to be wherever Mommy is and that is an incredible feeling. I am so blessed!
XOXOXO
