01-1-2009 - New Year

My mood while writing this blog:
Sick and Tired

So I don't really have anything to update so far... I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year :-) Here's to a good 2009! I'm hoping it's better than 2008 was. There were definitely some good parts of 2008, like my niece being born, getting a new puppy and a new kitten, and hopefully the very beginning of this pregnancy! The miscarriages made it hard though... I'm really hoping that we don't have to go through that kind of pain again and again..

DH and I had a nice New Years Eve. We went over to one of my best friend's house for it and had a lot of fun :-) I ate more there than I had all day, which was nice, cuz right now, it's hard to eat a lot (morning sickness hit last Saturday and has not let up since!). I fell asleep before midnight (even though I took a long nap before going over!), and then again after midnight.. There were people there that didn't know about our pregnancy (ok, only one that lasted til midnight), so he probably thought I was a big party pooper :-) I just couldn't stay awake! This is supposed to get better, right??

I still have a week til my ultra sound and I feel like I'm going crazy waiting! I'm getting very attached to this little jelly bean inside me! I just want to know if he/she is ok. I get so excited about thinking about seeing his/her little heart beat, but the bigger part of me expects the worst. How can I not after last time?? I thought everything was fine, nothing was wrong.. I still had all the pregnancy symptoms and had no sign of miscarriage, and then the shocking ultra sound.. I just don't think that I know how to expect the best anymore...

DH and I have been so blessed in so many ways. We were able to buy a house before our first year of marriage was over, we have two sweet labs that are wonderful with kids and two cats that are loving and are good with kids too. We've been able to afford not only what we need, but what we want too. We live near our families and see them on a regular basis, and get to spend a lot of time with our friends too. We've both kept our jobs with the economy getting bad and so many people losing their jobs. We just are having a hard time starting a family.. I'm really hoping that this time the pregnancy sticks and we have a healthy little baby in August! I guess we'll find out more next Thursday. I'll be sure to blog/update after the ultra sound!
