My mood while writing this blog: Better-ish |
Hey ladies
How is everyone today? I managed to get myself to work this morning and got a lot done but by dinner I was fed up so I came home. My colleague decided she wasn't going to talk to me and was so ignorant (probably because I've been off for a week), she really annoyed me so I thought sod you I'm not sitting here being ignored so I came home. I am going back tomorrow and if she carries on I'll ask her what her problem is. We usually get on really well so I don't get it but hey she's probably just jealous that I'm pregnant, she's been trying nearly as long as I have and never been pregnant. I feel sorry for her but there's no need to take it out on me, she knows how much I've been suffering with the nausea so she should try and understand that I needed a break from work. She's 36 for god sake - grow up a bit woman! Grrrr
Anyway, I haven't felt as sick today which is brilliant, I'm hoping it's starting to wear off a bit - fingers crossed!
Steve came home with a newborn set from Mothercare yesterday, it's so sweet, it has scratch mitts, a bib, a babygrow, a vest and a little 2 piece outfit and a hat, it's so cute! He is so sweet, he was really excited about buying it. I can't wait to go shopping tomorrow and Saturday!
Everyone keeps saying that I'm having a boy but how they know that this early on I just don't know. No one can guess what I'm having and be right until the day baby gets here!
We have a girls name sorted but I'm not very keen on any boys names. I won't be sharing them until baby gets here as I don't want anyone to pinch them ha ha! We just want names that aren't common, most names we think of that we like there are already loads of babies/children called that so that puts us off. I want their names to be unique so when they get to school they are the only ones with that name.
Right, I have a little bit of energy so I'm going to do some housework - yippee I've missed doing my housework soooo much! Let's hope my appetite comes back soon so I can start cooking again, I miss using my lovely kitchen. xxx

Thursday, 5 Mar I always appreciate your honesty, but it was kind of hurtful for you to say that your co-worker is probably jealous of you and that you feel sorry for her. Do you feel that way about me? I haven't ever been pregnant and I'm just happy that you are doing well. I'm not jealous of you, and I don't want you to feel sorry for me. It just would make me feel worse. She's probably upset because you take off work and leave her with the excess. Try to be understanding, she means you no harm and deep inside she is happy for you, but she is hurting not because you are pregnant and are in some way flaunting it around her, but because of her personal pain. Well at least that is how I feel. Almost all of my friends on this site are fortunate to be pregnant and the few of us that are not can really feel left out, especially if the mothers to be start feeling sorry for us. Hope you continue to feel better and enjoy your pregnancy. drod -
Thursday, 5 Mar Everyday I look to see if you have a new blog because they are always great to read and I find that your sharing is comforting. Not everyone will agree with everything you say and I don't thing you should try to do that since you are expressing how you feel.
I don't think you should allow anyone to spoil your day. That's just giving them too much power.
The lady at work may not be jealous but could be hurting and expressing her hurt in a negative way. After I MC at 17 weeks last year it was painful to be at work. That's because there were 8 pregnant people in my small department. While I wished them well, It was a constant reminder to me that my son was gone. The all had other children and were all younger than I was. So just ignore her attitude for now.
Glad you are feeling better. I'm feeling a bit better myself. :)

Thursday, 5 Mar I know its hard but try to be understanding with the lady in work. Everyone reacts differently. I had a best friend who tried for 7 years to become pregnant and everytime I became pregnant it was a constant reminder that she wasnt. You know how that feels and with everything you and Stev have been through you both so deserve it but it must be hard when she isnt and has to work so closely with you. My heart really goes out to her. proud.mummy.of.3xxx -

Thursday, 5 Mar Awww... I want a newborn set too. That was so sweet of Steve to buy it. I'll probably wait until I find out what I'm having before I buy anything though. Good to hear that you're feeling a little better.
Oh, and try to be understanding of the lady at work. It probably just makes her upset or sad to see you and she doesn't know how to be happy for you without being sad about herself. I know that I'd be pretty depressed if I were in my 30's and not been able to get pregnant. I'm sure she'll come around eventually. It might even be best to try and talk to her. Good luck with that.
Oh, and I think that you're having a girl. :-) nirvana -
Thursday, 5 Mar I like the unique and usual names too, my 3 kids have less common names and thats why im struggling this time to come up with a name i like....it has to be unusual and it has to "fit in" with the other kids names lol, its a nightmare so far! That and having so many nieces and nephews with usual names too.....
Your work collegue does sound as though shes suffering from baby envy which is a common scenario so i wouldnt take too much offence its not worth the stress. At 36 shes probably worried her times running out abit.
You deserve to be happy, you deserve this baby and after the hellish year youve had you deserve to have an easy time! So dont let anyone spoil your happiness, you have the most wonderful reason to smile xx MamaCas29 -
Thursday, 5 Mar The girl is probably upset that you keep going home...that would be my guess...and she probably is a bit jealous, which means she is hurting inside, which is kind of sad. I hope that things at work get better for you....and I really hope that your sickness is wearing off! It's always nice to get rid of the nausea and enjoy the belly growing! Take care! MrsMommy2 -
Thursday, 5 Mar I know what you mean about the name when I named my son Wyatt nobody around here was named Wyatt and now everybody has a wyatt luckily they are all going to be a year behind him in school but its funny how nobody has that name and then all of the sudden its everybody's name! I guessed boy for you too! Not saying im right but i've been 3 for 3 w/ all my preggo friends haha i should play the lotto! But if you are hoping for a girl (as we are this time around) I really hope you have a girl! nessa11709 -

Thursday, 5 Mar Yay! That is great that you are feeling better. Hopefully that will last. You are so lucky to be able to take off work so much. We have 90 hours total for the whole year and that is it. If you use it all oh well. And I agree with keeping the names a secret. I will be doing the same. I don't want anyone else taking his/her name. STCT -
Thursday, 5 Mar It's so neat you are going to wait until the baby comes to find out the sex. Have fun doing house work, I know it always makes me feel better. EricandCalebsMommy -

Thursday, 5 Mar Man you must have one awsome job to let you take off so much time! I would so be fired! The one good thing about my work is that we have a "Mothers Room" and it has a bed in it, so I would take a 30 minute nap every single day while I was pregnant. My pregnancy symptoms were fatigue, no throwing up...thank god!
