The heartbeat is the most beautiful sound you'll ever hear except for the very first cry :-) I cried when we heard the heartbeat for the very first time and my doctor thought I was upset with him for telling me I had to go to a specialist because of my age LOL

Ahhhh! What a great feeling that you'll never, ever forget!! Couldn't you just listen to it all day? I remember being in the maternity ward right beofre I had my daughter. They hook you up to the monitor the whole time. The nurse kept trying to turn down the volume, but I wouldn't let her. I never got tired from hearing it.

oh my god helen! i'm super happy for you! isn't it amazing and life altering when you hear your little one's heartbeat for the first time?!?!? i honestly think i was so overwhelmed with joy that tears just immediately came to my eyes the 1st time i heard my son's hb :) oh how exciting for you!!!! welcome to week 16 hon! can't wait to see your newest baby bump picture!!!!

Ahhhh hun i am sooo pleased for you! i knew hearing the heartbeat would make you sooo over the moon i expect you will be ordering one now hehe! I love mine i still use it sometimes when he's being lazy and doesn't move much and it always re-assures me he's ok in there so i wouldn't be without it im glad you and Steve have had a great time spoiling yourselves make the most of it because when babas here you won't spend so much on yourselves it will be baby more often than not lol! lots of love steph x x x

That's great! I love my doppler, it keeps me sane when I worry. Last night was the first night that my hubby got to feel a kick! it was kicking like crazy! it's amazing!! I felt the kicks and movements for awhile now but this was the first time he felt them. it was so cool!

I remember listening to Aidan's heartbeat for the first time, I remember it was the most wonderful sound in the world, listening to my baby's heartbeat. When they get kicking and moving around, you can hear their movements with a doppler too.

I'm glad you got to hear the heartbeat. I wanted a doppler but my husband said "NO WAY" just incase I wasn't able to find the HB right away, he knew I would freak. Can't wait unti your appointment for an update :)

hey, i used to sit and listen to george every night, it's just lovely isn't it. Glad your all doin well and enjoyed a bit of retail therapy this weekend. Me and Adam pick up the keys to our first house on tues so we've been up to homebase buying, wine glasses, and saucepans and a swish coffee machine! Exciting times! Hi ladies
Hope you are all having a fantastic weekend. Mine has been lovely and to top it all off my friend just came round with her doppler and Steve and I both listened to baby Hudson's heartbeat for the first time. It was soooo amazing, I could hear him/her moving around and the heartbeat was so strong and clear. I feel so reassured now and soooo excited, I can't stop smiling.
I feel like jumping around the room and screaming I'm so happy.
We've had a lovely weekend. Our Indian meal on Friday night was gorgeous, I ordered Tandoori Butter Chicken but only ate the sauce with peshwari naan and egg rice as I still can't bear warm meat.
Yesterday Steve went to watch the football and I went to my sisters for the afternoon and today we've been into town and bought ourselves lots of new clothes. Steve got a bonus last week so we treat ourselves, it's been great. I got some lovely dresses and a top that will grow with my bump and some new make up. I've ordered loads of maternity jeans from Next as my normal jeans are too tight on my belly now so can't wait for them to come as I haven't bought anything maternity yet.
I've put 1 pound on but I'm still 5 pounds under my pre pregnancy weight even though I am eating quite a lot I never eat anything after about 6/7pm at night so I think that's why I'm not gaining any weight. I am definately hungrier now though than I was a few weeks ago so I'm sure I'll start putting weight on soon. I'm still suffering with that awful taste in my mouth, I've come to think I'll have it through my whole pregnancy but it's just something I've got to put up with isn't it.
So I'm a very happy mummy to be right now and I'm sure I won't stop grinning for a while. I should hear the heartbeat again on Wednesday at my 16 week appointment so that's something else to look forward to.
