My mood while writing this blog: Happy Mummy To Be |
Hello ladies
Happy 25 weeks to me! Only 15 weeks to go and only 71 days until I finish work. I'm sooooo excited!
Ok here's my update for the last week. Friday I went to work as happy as Larry and half way through the morning I started having really horrible scary pains in my belly. I went to the loo (thinking it may be constipation) and that didn't seem to help so I got myself in a right panic thinking I was going into preterm labour. They were strange pains that just didn't feel right, like shooting pains going all up my stomach. Anyway, I went over to see my mum in her office and she calmed me down. I booked the afternoon off work and sat in the garden and relaxed and they just went away and I haven't had any more pains since then thank goodness! It really shook me up but I am assuming it was just a one off and hoping it doesn't happen again.
Saturday was Steve's track day, we got up at 7am and drove to York and the weather was amazing. We had such a fantastic day, I got to sit in an Audi R8 worth about £90k just because I was pregnant - I got a few perks. Then Steve drove a Lambourgini worth £168k!!! It was gorgeous and he loved every minute of it. We both now want a sports car each but that's not going to happen is it!
Sunday we went out for dinner with Steve's parents and grandparents which was ok but I don't feel the same about them anymore and don't really enjoy spending time with them.
We've had the loss adjuster round following our leak in the bathroom last week and we can claim for some of it but not all of it. The new bathroom suite is coming on the 16th so hopefully by the end of June the new bathroom will be at least started if not finished, I can't wait for it all to be done. My brother in law is doing it for us and he's a complete perfectionist so we know it will look fantastic.
Over the past week I've started to suffer from heartburn and backache but I'm not complaining, it's all worth it. Baby Hudson is still really active and I never get bored of being kicked by him/her.
I have my 25 week midwife appointment tomorrow, I can't wait to see what I'm measuring at and finally get my MATB1 form so I can officially let work know what my leaving date is. We are also collected the pram in 5 weeks, can't wait to have a go at practising with that.
Hope everyone else is doing ok. Lots of love from Helen and baby Hudson. xxx

Wednesday, 3 Jun hey a little tip for DPOW, they calculate your mat pay based on this months average pay.. i know it's 15 weeks before your due date that they calculate it from.. if you get offered overtime this week do it because it will go into your average salary calculations :oD jen -
Wednesday, 3 Jun Your baby and your body will put you thru some scary times, but about 99% of those times, nothing at all is wrong. You may have been having braxton hicks contractions, or maybe a bad case of indigestion?? Either way, I'm glad your belly calmed down and you were able to relax! Tums works great for heartburn, I had to take some for mine when I was preggy. Can't wait to hear about your appointment! I'm sure s/he measuring spot on! drod -

Tuesday, 2 Jun Helen its amazing 25 weeks wow... congratulations :)
i dont exactly know much about the sharp pains you have been having... but i do know that i get similar pains at times.. but they come and go and i assume its kinda normal to get such pains unless they are tooo major and unbearable... and like wat the other ladies here say, may be that is what they call as braxton hicks.. you can ask your midwife when you meet her tomorrow..
goodluck and godbless.. tk care xxxxx RainbowRach -
Tuesday, 2 Jun ahhh bless you, you must have been so scared. Did you belly tighten right up? I am wondering if it might have been Braxton Hicks?
Ahhh heartburn. I have only been suffering a few weeks, but I am having to take tablets after every meal! Like you said, its so worth it x x
So pleased you and Steve enjoyed the track day x katey25 -
Tuesday, 2 Jun Hey hun,
Glad to here everything is going well - those pains sound a little like braxton hicks, they say they dont hurt but mine did - check to see if your tummy's tighter next time round. Resting and keeping hydrated should do the trick.
Oooh poor thing about the heart burn... I couldn't stomache gaviscon but renees worked wonders.
Your on the homeward stretch now, wont be long! x the scroggins -
