My mood while writing this blog: Excited and Tired |
Hi ladies
Sorry I haven't been around much lately, we just seem to be busy all the time at the minute. Steve had 4 days off work with me and it was so nice, we did lots of shopping and visiting and went out for a nice meal (while we still can). I missed him loads when he went back to work.
Yesterday I went to my 34 week midwife appointment. While I was there she said oh I'll just check your blood results from 6 weeks ago as no one seems to have checked them. It turns out I was aneamic 6 weeks ago but no one bothered to let me know so I'm now on iron supplements which I'm not happy about as last time I was put on them I collapsed and was so ill. I told her about this and she said just to take one every other day for now and to take folic acid every day to help my body absorb the extra iron. If I'm ok after a week taking one every other day I have to increase them to one every day and then 2 a day but I'll have to see how I go. I am annoyed that no one checked my results and that I've been aneamic for so long without doing anything about it.
Anyway, everything was fine with baby H, I am measuring 2 weeks behind but she said that is fine, baby is still head down but not engaged, she said he/she is just resting on top of my pelvis. The heartbeat was good and strong and my urine was perfect. I go back again in 3 weeks when I will be 37 weeks and full term! YIPPEE!
I've gained about 22 lbs now and I'm really hoping I don't gain much more than before the birth. I've had really bad heartburn the last few days and my back still hurts a lot and I can't sleep much with going to the toilet so much but apart from that I feel fine and I'm just getting more and more excited each day.
My friend's baby is due in 3 weeks and I know when she has her baby I am just going to get even more excited as I know I won't be far behind her.
We have lots of plans over the next week or so which I'm excited about as it makes the weeks fly by. We have a wedding a week on Friday, I've got a lovely new dress, shoes, handbag, fascinator, jewellery and I'm having my hair put up by the girl who did my hair for my wedding so I'm looking forward to getting all glammed up even though I will feel fat and uncomfortable all day!
The week after that is my mum's birthday so we're going out for a meal, then the day after we are going to my friend's 30th birthday party at a champagne bar, I won't be drinking obviously but there is a buffet so I will make the most of that!
Anyway, hope you are all doing ok and I cannot wait to hear from Rainbowrach that baby Emily-Rose has arrived, you are so close now hun and I still think she will be early! Good luck and I'm right behind you! xxx

Monday, 10 Aug I was anemic post baby and my midwife recommended something called Spatone - its natural iron which has filtered through the rocks. It didn't make me feel ill nor clog me up! I think you can take it when you are pregnant but check beforehand. Tesco and Boots sell it, you'll find it in the vitamins and mineral supplements area. Glad to see everything is going well - not long now! x sarahann -
Thursday, 6 Aug That's so wrong that no one checked your results and you were anaemic! I would be ropable! Anyway, not long now, I hope your health keeps well x stepheni775 -

Thursday, 6 Aug Good to hear from you. I hope the iron supplement wont make you ill. Keep heating healthy and all will be well. I can't believe how these medical people keep forgetting to tell us important stuff. Hope you enjoy the upcoming events. It''s a good think your bag is packed and everything is all ready for Baby H. About the peeing in the night, try taking most or all of your liquids in the mornings and afternoon so that you bladder is not too full when you go to bed. That has helped me a lot now I only go once. utopianite -

Thursday, 6 Aug That is so obnoxious about the Anemia! The same thing happened to me with my second pregnancy, but I didn't find out until I was 39 weeks and started having heart palpitations because of it! I had gone to the emergency room because of my heart, and they told me I was anemic, so I called my OB and told him, and he was like, "Oh yeah, we already knew that". WTF??! I was sooo mad. I'm glad you have found out now. You don't have much longer....... I am super excited for you!! expecting-2b-patient (Cheryl) -
Thursday, 6 Aug Glad to hear things are moving right along for you and your ever growing belly! I think the weight you've gained is perfect. Don't get on yourself because you have to gaining more, you're baby is really packing on the fat! It's all baby, you'll see! Have fun at that wedding, I've been to one this summer and find them a lot more boring being preggo, LOL! Can you believe that you only have 6 more weeks... give or take... RainbowRach -
Thursday, 6 Aug awww lovely to hear from your chick!! Its so nice to have your man home isnt it. My Steve has been around this week as I have been to several appointments, he has go off to a meeting today and I am REALLY missing him!!I cannot believe that your results were not checked sooner, that is awful. Make sure you take it easy hun, lack of iron is probably making you more tired.Yay that baby H is doing great. I am sure s/he will be moving into your pelvis soon, once that happens the heartburn tends to ease of a little. OMG I cannot wait to find out if you had Prince or Princess Hudson!!! heheSounds like you have some lovely weekends planned. I did the same, then at 37 weeks stopped organising things as I needed some rest!!! Enjoy getting dressed up for the wedding, we obviously want to see the pics!!!Take care chick and thanks so much for the mention x I promise I will text if anything exciting happens!Love ya, Rach & Emily-Rose x ladylocks02 -

Thursday, 6 Aug Normally at this stage you gain about a pound a week, so don't be surprised or upset if you do...it's totally normal. All the running you'll be doing to throw away dirty diapers, get a burp rag, clean pacifiers and bottles and such, I'm sure you'll burn it right off!! Sounds like you are going to be busy until baby H comes!! Rest when you can, as once baby is here, rest is out the window!! *mwah* kisses to baby!! christinesc -
Thursday, 6 Aug You do have a busy few weeks coming up! That will really make the time fly by. I'm hoping my starting back to work at 32 weeks will only make the time go by faster. I have a feeling I will be moaning a lot after being off work for 9 glorious weeks. Have fun at your events, and by the way, what is a fascinator? honeymoon-baby -
