My mood while writing this blog: Content |
Hi everyone,
How are you all?
Well we didn't have a great start to the new year, me and Steve both got the sickness bug on the same day and had to get Steve's mum to come and help with Joshua, I was terrified he was going to catch it but luckily he didn't. My whole family got it so I'm still amazed he was immune to it! Straight after the bug went I got a horrible cold but now I'm feeling great and healthy again.
I started back on my diet on Monday, I've lost 37 lbs now, I'm under my pre pregnancy weight which is just fantastic and I'm hoping to lose at least another 7 lbs to be really comfortable with my weight.
Joshua is growing soooo fast, I can't believe how big he is and what a great little personality he has already. He has me in hysterics, he's soooo funny.
Since he was born we had been rocking him to sleep every day and every night but last week we decided to try and get him to go to sleep on his own and it was so easy. We put him in his cot and he cried first time for 20 minutes and fell to sleep and then after that he either goes straight to sleep or he cries for about 10 minutes and then goes to sleep. I wish I'd do this sooner as it is so much easier than rocking him. He learns very quickly bless him.
He's still on hungry baby formula and has 1 bowl of rice a day which I will increase to 2 bowls soon and then start him on pureed veg and fruit. He's 17 weeks now and he's still very greedy. He's going to be a big boy, he was 16lb 7oz last week at 16 weeks.
Ok ladies, haven't really got much else to update on. Those of you who've had babies, how old were they when they first sat up unaided?
Thank you
Love Helen and little greedy piglet xxx

Wednesday, 13 Jan Hey hun glad to hear your little guy is doing good and avoided the bug. And glad to hear you and your hubby are feeling better its hard taking care of a little one when you are under the weather and of course you don't want to get them sick. Wyatt sat up unassisted for the first time at 4.5 months when he was able to sit up on his own. He crawled at the end of 5 months about a week before his 6 month birthday I believe and he was pulling himself up to stand against the couch at 6.5 months and walking along side it by 7 months he was walking VERY wobbly at the end of 8mths beginning of 9mths and by the end of 9mths he mastered walking and by 10mths he was running! Every baby does stuff at different times though my friends little girl the same age as my oldest didn't sit up until she was about 7 months and didn't walk until a few months after her 1st birthday. So they are all different. From the looks of things I think my little Owen is gonna pass up his big brother in the milestone dept. The Ped. had him walking in her office at 2wks old! With her holding his arms of course! rosye13 -
Wednesday, 13 Jan My first didn't sit up on her own before she pulled herself up to a standing positon. I know, crazy right? We were so worried because she wouldn't sit up on her own. She was crawling but still would fall over if we set her down in a sitting position. Anyway, then at 6 months she pulled herself up next to her little piano (standing). We couldn't believe it, our jaws dropped. So early to be pulling herself up. Point being, no matter what little Joshua does, no worries. He will do things in his own time and different than every other baby because he is his own little person. And he sounds very, very healthy. Do you happen to have a little bumbo for him to sit in so that he can feel like he's sitting up on his own and a part of the "group"? lol. priddy-mama -
Wednesday, 13 Jan It's good to hear from you! Happy to hear your all doing good! Addisyn sat up for the 1st time by herself @ 5 months. :) Take care! Julianna -
Wednesday, 13 Jan WOW...Congrats on your weight loss. That is incredible! I need to get going on that, myself. I have only continued to gain since Nicholas was born. All of my kids were sitting up by themselves before 6 months. They all crawled & walked early, too. Christopher was 10 months when he walked, Andrew 9 months and Nicholas 8 months. It was really funny to see this tiny little man up on his feet walking around..lol Every child is different, though. With Joshua being a bigger baby, he may do those things sooner as well. Nobody knows, though. Thanks for the update! mmyof3angels -
