29-6-2009 - Update on the babyshower drama

My mood while writing this blog:
Sooooooo over it

Good evening Ladies.... well this is an update to my babyshower drama...Well on Thursday, my husband and sisters had a huge argument about their inappropriate opinions which caused me a lot of stress because I love my sisters and I love my Husband and it feels like they put me in the middle. My husband was trying to stick up for us and our decisions (name and babyshower) because he is a great PROTECTOR!!!! Well they get things settled but they haven\'t spoken to me since that day. We talked everyday b/c we are all close but I guess I have to wait until they are ready to talk to me again. I call my mother (who I am very close to and besides my husband is my best friend)on Saturday and she tells me that the babyshower is a \"GIFT\" and it is tacky to coordinate your own gift. She goes on to say that the only thing I should be involved in is me getting my registry done and submitting my guest list...and then she asks me why I am being so sensitive...Let me add that my sisters live with her and my dad, so I'm sure her thoughts are swayed...I haven't spoken to her since that day b/c I couldn't understand how she is the only one in that household that has been pregnant and she can't relate....Anyway...I spoke to my friends and they agreed with me and offered to just throw me the babyshower...My husband wants to throw it and financially endorse it and throw their name on it just to ensure we get what we want....IDK?????

I had the same sort of drama not too long ago. To keep the peace, I learned to just step aside and let my MIL do whatever she wanted. I know it will be beautiful. So now I just worry about my registries and what I am going to wear. Its a lot less stressful. Just trust them and relax.

You are so lucky to have such a supportive husband. I don't think anyone should make comments about another person's choice, especially because they just don't understand it. Stick to your guns, you are in the right,
