30-11-2009 - ER Visit

My mood while writing this blog: In a HORRIBLE Mood - Again :/

Monday night my daughter was just fussy and crying and miserable. Her temperature was 102.5 with a runny nose and conjestion. We took her to the ER to find out what was going on. She was smiling at all the doctors and nurses when we got there. It was hard to believe she was sick! But her high temp did make the doc a little nervous. He checked her for H1N1 of course. That was negative but they did find she had an ear infection. I'm still not 100% convinced that's all it was. Usually babies will rub or tug on their ear. She didn't do that. I have to take her to the doc next week so we'll see what his conclusion is then.

While we were there I felt a gush in my panties. I went to the bathroom and saw blood in the toilet along with some small pieces of stuff. Looked like clots. This was the second time this happened in only a few hours time. I figured since I was already in the ER I might as well get looked at. I left my daughter with her father and checked myself in. The nurse that checked in my daughter also checked me in. Let me tell you, she made me feel like a piece of CRAP! She asked me how many pregnancies I've had in the past. I told her 4; my son, a miscarriage, my daughter and this little bean. She repeated my information back to me and said, "So two?" Umm.....no.....that's not what I said. So I had to repeat myself again. She didn't get it right the second time either. She then asked me how old my oldest was. I told her 10. She said, "Guess you're making up for lost time huh?!" WHAT?! Who would say that???? Then she asked when my last period was. Well, considering I was pregnant for 9 months and got pregnant right away, I haven't had a period since Aug 2008! She didn't like that answer because the system wouldn't take that info. Well I'm very sorry but that's when I had my last period. Then she asked if I've seen a doc for this pregnancy. Duh! I'm 12 weeks! I told her we already heard the heartbeat, already seen the little bean's heartbeat on the ultrasound and I told her my due date. It just seemed like she didn't believe a word of what I was saying!!! She kept repeating me and asking me the same questions over and over again! I should have asked her if there was a problem but I was scared and emotional. She finally took me to a room and had me undress from the waist down. She went to get my finance and my daughter so I wouldn't be alone. We're all standing in the room and she says she's going to look for a heartbeat. She takes out the doppler and says, "Just so you know, if we don't hear anything don't panic. This is an old machine and I don't know how to use it all that well." I'm thinking.....my doc found it on the first try so if you can't, there's a problem! She puts the gel on and starts moving the doppler around. She found a beat. It was mine and I tried to tell her. She counted and says, "That's you." You think?! Then she tries again. Both her and my finance hear another beat. My finance looks relieved. I told him AND her again that it wasn't the baby. She counts again and says, "That's you too." I was beginning to lose hope. This went on for about five minutes. She was way too high on my belly to hear anything and I was getting frustrated! I showed her where the baby was at my last ultrasound AGAIN. She put the doppler there and there was another beat. THAT WAS MY BABY!!!! I told her, "there it is!" She counted and said that was the baby. The heartbeat was strong and beating away. Then the doc comes in with the ultrasound machine. He was surprised I was laying on the bed since we were there for my daughter. He asked my finance if there was anything he needed too. I wasn't impressed by his jokes. He made his disclaimer before trying the u/s. "This machine is old and I'm not trained on how to use it. We are just given these things just in case." Again I'm thinking to myself, at 8 weeks I saw something so if you don't when I'm now 12 weeks along, we have a problem. He puts the gel on my belly and starts looking around. There's my baby!!! It was kicking it's little legs, floating around and having a hay day! We saw the little spine and the legs! Doc checked my cervix too and said it was closed and everything felt normal. He doesn't know why I bled or why it keeps happening here and there. I have an appointment next week with my doc to follow-up. I haven't bled since so that's good news! Even though I haven't felt pregnant with this baby I know I still am....if that makes any sense.
