Here are some good small items to buy : diapers, blankets, lotion, shampoo and diaper rash cream, bottle brush, pacifiers, socks, nose syringe, nail clippers, diaper bag, crib wedge, pack of wipes, hand sanitizer, baby q-tips, pack of nipples, bibs, bottles, onzies and a few outfits. My friend just had a baby shower a little over a month ago and I bought an enormous size gift bag and put everything listed above in it, along with a glider rocking chair and a carseat/stroller combo set. It really helped her out alot because it was just about everything you could need for a newborn.Here are a few ideas if you just want to get a bigger gift: A glider rocking chair, carseat, stroller, bassinet, crib/mattress, crib bedding, walker, bouncie seat, dresser/ changing table.I hope this helps. I still remember everything because I just had a baby 1 year ago and I have friends that aren't done having babies yet lol. I am sure you will find her the perfect gift. :)

I normally buy a big diaper bag and add alot of stuff in it, and then make a basket out of it, adding things around the bag inside the basket. Outside of the basket I put all the soap and clothes. Inside I put the Bottles, pacis, wipes cover and purchse wipes, Formula holders, bottle warmer, baby on board, baby plugs for the circuits, bibs, and a diapy trash bag.

i would get some blankets,diapers,wipes or maybe those gift baskets that come with the shampoo and diaper rash stuff in them. i loved getting those gift baskets. they are already put together and wrapped. i loved getting diapers bc they are so expensive

Maybe you should get diapers then put together a basket of a ton of little things. My hub's squad leader brought me a basket full of stuff and we use the basket for a toybox in the living room now lol

A good friend of mine since grade school is having her first baby in March 2010! She's having a little girl and I need some good gift ideas for a first time mom. Its been awhile and I just want to know things that you wish you had or love having. THANKS
