| 10-2-2009 - My boss hates me |
My mood while writing this blog: scared and angry |
Well, even though there is no way for my boss to know how the health department showed up and stopped the smoking....he has it out for me because he is "pretty sure" it was me. I have also heard from a birdy that he is looking for whatever reason he can find to fire me, and treating me like crap in the mean-time. This guy is such an A-hole! I just can't believe this is happening. Now I'm going to lose my job! I know it's probably for the better, but it just worries me with this economy. Sorry...I just had to vent. : (
Yeah, this guy is a real jerk. He did say that it couldn't be anyone other than me (not to me) . He does know I'm pregnant, and he is the owner of the company. It's a small company. I'm just in a bad situation. I won't let him do this to me easily. I plan on putting up a fight.

Wednesday, 11 Feb Document EVERYTHING. Dates, times, what he says, what you overhear. If he does fire you, you can go to unemployment and put up a fight when he denies you. You will have proof that he is creating a hostile work environment. You are pregnant, you qualify as a protected class. If he gets worse, try talking to him with a witness in the room and ask what it is he needs from you to make this work. Inform him that the comments you are hearing make you feel as if he is harassing you because you are pregnant. Put him on notice that you are there to work but wont stand for the harassment. Once you mention that magic word, he should back off. DOCUMENT honey, it counts. Good luck! mrs.leyva -
Tuesday, 10 Feb When I was pregnant with my first my boss and her bestfriends where a bunch of slutty women hating on anybody who was happy. One of them just happen to have been trying to get pregnant and ended up beginning menopause. A week later I found out I was pregnant and nothing was the same. Once I started with the morning sickness and getting out of my desk to go vomit they started with how I needed to focus more on work and blah blah blah. Two days later the fired me. Some of my co-workers called me up saying that they had it out for me. That the one woman was pissed that I was pregnant and that she would never have a baby. Totally ridiculous but it was probably for the best cause that was when I became the housewife I am now. AD -
Tuesday, 10 Feb I know the feeling of having someone dislike you at work. I had the same issue, I was promised a promotion and when my boss found out I was pregnant she said it wasn't in the budget to promote me at this time. I hate being at work but at this time I don't have a choice. Things will get better =) Heidi Boo -
Tuesday, 10 Feb Wow did he actually say he was pretty sure it was you? Does he have a boss? Can't you go to them? Might be an idea to keep a diary - just in case he does try to dismiss you, you can then use it to support a case of unfair or constructive dismissal. It will help if you start with the smoking thing as he is in the wrong with that instantly! Also if he dismisses you knowing you are pregnant he wil be leaving himself wide open for legal action, so you may be a lot more secure in your job if you tell him that you are, and if he still does dismiss you, you are in an even better position to claim maximum compensation! Hope this helps! I don't know anything about US employment law but I am pretty familiar with the UK version and it can't be that far different... xxx rooey -
Tuesday, 10 Feb Dont give him a thing! If he does sue him for unfair dismissal, on the grounds that h has no proof it was you.
Be strong honey, you are bigger than him, in this ;o)
