07-9-2009 - GAVE BIRTH!!!

On August 20, 2009 at 9:32 a.m. I gave birth to Emily Carol Meadows. She was 7 lbs. 8 oz and 20 inches long.She had jaundice about 2 days after birth and had to use a light blanket for a week. She's doing great now. I can't believe that she's here and healthy and beautiful. Hubby is awesome, she looks just like him. She's not sleeping thru the night yet of course, but it isn't too bad. Hubby has been helping me get some sleep during the day. I have no idea how I'm going to go back to work with no sleep. Ugh!! I look at her every day and thank God that she's here and healthy. She is tooo cute!!!

I had the c section and wow did it hurt. Not the actual procedure but the recovery sure does. If you wish to know what a c section feels like, let me know, I'll tell you. I vomited, I had my catheter pulled out by mistake by the orderlie who was taking me to my room, I was bleeding from my urethra, many other issues. The incision hurts deep inside and I have to take vicodin and percocet to make it go away. Don't get me wrong, it was totally worth it but if you can go vaginally...DO IT!!!

I wrote this right after she was born and though when I read it now, it seems a bit dramatic, I still hold firm that a c section hurts! In any case, my angel is now two months and a week. She smiles at us, makes noises and sleeps thru the night. I'm so lucky!! I have no issues left over from her birth and actually am back to normal weight wise. She is in my sister in law's daycare, and I'm soo relieved. She is thriving. She's so cool, laid back and never cries unless she is in pain, like constipated. she did get a cold last week but the baby vick's, vaporizer and sleep did the trick. She's getting better.
