17-10-2008 - Dr appt update

My mood while writing this blog: excited!

This last wednesday was my weekly appt with my OB, and every thing went pretty well. I gained the 3 lbs I lost last week, but Itend to fluctuate those 3lbs every week. Very odd. So I am back to 8lbs since I have been pregnant. Maybe next week it will be 5 again...! over that last week I had alot more BH than I have had before, but it probably had something to do with the packing and excitement of moving. My dr said that if I keep contracting that much, I will have to have my cerclage taken out alot sooner, like in 5-6 weeks. I asked her if we can wait until Dec. 3 because I do not want a Thanksgiving baby nor do I want her birthday to be on my grandmothers- she already shares a birthday with her younger sister (my aunt). And Dec 3 would be very convenient with mine and my husband's schedule. I know that souds horrible, but my family is really big on holidays and I wouldn't want to crash anyones holiday by my water breaking during Thanksgiving dinner!

My dr sounded very happy that I wanted to wait another 7 weeks but I just hope my body cooperates. I told my dr I am also experiencing vaginal cramps..... that is a very odd feeling and it brought me to my knees today. So I hope my body can hold on for 7 more weeks. I let my hubby know that he will need to do the rest of the packing now since I need to take myself off of it. I really want to keep her in there baking for as long as I can. My dr didn't seem at all worried about the baby's health since we already did the steroid shots a couple of weeks ago and she's a big long baby already. (she's in the 85th percentile for her weight!) so with her being born a bit early, it probably won't be a big deal. I just hope she can come home with us.

so all-in-all, it was a good dr visit since I am not dilating and my cervix is still hard and closed from the outside. I was very happy with it. A bit scared, but I feel all will be ok if I take it easy and lay down. I think I am in a nesting phase, so it's really hard to stay put with all this energy I have no outlet for. I also think I have an irritable uterus because I go into a BH when I get up and walk, when I have to pee, or when I move onto my back from my sides. Any time I move it happens. I need to still talk to my dr about that one. Maybe I need to go back on nifedipine.

As for the baby, she is rocking and rolling in there. She now sticks out her bum and makes my whole right side of my tummy lump up. I try to push her down but I end up patting her bum instead. Her kicks are constant! She gets the hiccups about once a day, I feel them in my bum area- very strange! My tummy is like a water bed now. I love watching it and I alsways wonder what part of her is doing that. I can kind of gauge where her hands are, I am thinking by my belly button, or I guess that could be her knees too. I dont' know!
