22-11-2008 - I am dilating!!!

My mood while writing this blog: scared

My last dr appt was Wednesday the 19th and I found out I have dilated to a 1 and I am 90% effaced. WOW! so you know how we were hoping to have cerclage out at 37 weeks (Dec 3) well, that's not happening. My dr wants to do it while she is on call the weekend after Thanksgiving which is the 29th of Nov. I think she wanted the cerclage out that day and it would have been fine but my hubby was working 2 hours away and neither of us were prepared yet. My Aunt was with me at the appt and when my dr said the news, we looked at each other with huge eyes.

Last night I thought I had back labor but I think it was just sore form the pressure form the baby dropping into place. I called the nurse on call and she consulted with another dr that told me to just take it easy and use a heat pad with Tylenol. Well we dont' have any so I have been miserable. I have also been experiencing a stabbing feeling in my cervix when the baby moves or I have a bad BH. Like a stitch is ripping or something. But no blood so I am ok. I am afraid of dilating anymore and ripping.

One sight of blood and I am rushing to the hospital! I lost most of my plug 2 weeks after cerclage was put in but I am losing pieces of it here and there now. I know the inevitable is coming. I will be 36w4d when cerclage comes out so I believe the baby will be fine then. Dr said we will be having a nearly 8lb baby so jokingly I told her to just take it out now because I dont want to blow out my vagina! I don't think she found it funny at the time because she looked too preoccupied with thinking about my situation. Poor dr!

I will take laptop with me the day I get cerclage out to update everyone! I am hoping not to go into labor until after Thanksgiving. Here's hoping I don't!
