03-9-2008 - Week 37 appointment

I went in this morning for my 37 week appt. At this point I am at 30 lb weight gain, which I am happy with. I had the GBS test done and will get the results next week. I told my midwife that I am extremely sore in between my legs and that I felt bruised. She thought it may be because he has dropped and was going to check during the exam. She was right - his head is fully engaged, I am dialated to 2 cm and my cervix is "soft and mushy". Sounds really gross but at least it's progress. I also have been running a low fever around 100. She told me to rest and not worry unless it gets higher.

Once the exam was done, she felt around the outside to see what parts were where. She took my hands and showed me where to feel the outline of his head in my pelvis. It was so strange, but so neat to be able to actually feel our baby there! I cannot wait to see him and see who he looks like.

My next appointment is on the 11th. Hopefully there will be more progress!
