25-11-2009 - ~*Breast pumping*~

My mood while writing this blog:
Alittle worried

~*Ok ladies I need your 2 cents on this matter! I've been pumping for a week now was breastfeeding him but was way to painful! I'm pumping every 2-3 hours and getting 2-2 1/2 oz pretty much 20-21oz in 24 hours was only getting 16oz in 24 hours when I 1st started so it has went up! He is eating 3oz every 3 hours during day and 3-3 1/2oz every 3-4 hours sometimes 5 hours at night! Does this seem like enough? How do I get my milk supply up? I drink tons of water and eat oatmeal and drink milk and all that good stuff I'm pumping often there are times I have went 4 hours without pumping but I'll get 3 1/2oz when I do! I'm worried my supply won't keep up with him soon! Oh and I put 15 mins on each breasts with an elec pump single not double! any help would be great!!! Thanks!!!*~

fenu greek tea or pills can help, oatmeal like you said. i also heard alfalpha sprouts can help. Don't drink any caffine or alcohol or use peppermint. sometime its not what you can do but what you shouldn't do that can decrease it.

I was told to keep your supply up the first month to keep breast feeding and only pumping when you really had to, i am not quite sure, use google i usually find everything on there lol. good luck!

There is a tea as well as a pill (you can get from your obgyn) that will help up your supply. Also sometimes it just takes time! Also try a nipple cover medela makes a good one! That will help not to hurt so bad, it was only $8.00. When they can breast feed they can get more than if you just pump, so maybe try pump 1oz then feed off each side and see if that helps!

my mom told me that eating a small handfull of raisins every morning helps also drink some jello. warm up some water and put ur fav flavor in it. i've also heard that beer helps.
