My mood while writing this blog: Ok |
I went to the hospital today for mt first NST. The nurse came in and said the doctor wants to have you lay on your side for a while, well when I did Baby B's heat rate kept dropping. It would drop to nothing and 60 and then 210 and then 141. It was all over the place! The nurse came in and wanted me to drink a sprite and switch to my rt side. It got a little better but she wanted me to eat lunch. While I ate lunch both of their heart beats were plunging low. It was so scary! I had contractions too while I was there. Nothing too painful. After lunch I laid on my side some more...... I didnt notice an improvement but in walked the doctor and said she was going to release me and that she thought the babies were doing great and that Baby B had some glitches that she was concerned about but now they are doing great. She said she would like me to come in tomorrow for an u/s to check their fluid even though I had one last wk. I'm home but scared. I'm glad I'm going to their office tomorrow though especially since they are closed on Friday! I thought for sure she was going to get them out of there today! I'm glad she didnt bc its early but I just hope they are ok staying in! Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

Tuesday, 30 Jun As a matter of fact YES! I went for my first NST about 2 weeks ago. (Im high risk) And our little girls heart was doing the same thing. AT the NST they thought they kept getting mine and her heart beat. So after about an hour, they had me go to L&D. Thankfully my Dr. was on call. She checked me and they tried to get her heart beat on their machines and her heart was still going up and down. I was sooo scared! My dr. then started to explain to my husband and I that if this continues then they would have to induce me that way they could control her heart rate better. So, they came in with an u/s and watched her heart for about 20 minutes and watched for the drops. Also, heart was doing a double open instead of the single normal open. They had me see the Head Dr who does the u/s and she monitored the heart on her u/s machine, and felt that I was ok to go home, BUT I had to go see the Pediatric Cardiologist to make sure that all the valves/arteries etc. are functioning correctly. She also told me to discontinue ALL caffine (no coffee, soda, chocolate, even sweets.) i only have a about half a cup of coffee in the morning. So the next day i did what she said and returned for another NST and u/s and we had a nice heart rate. Only had ONE little drop, compared to the bunch we had before. I also saw the Ped. Card. a few days later and he said everything looked GREAT the heart was functioning PERFECT, and that he believes also that no caffeine was a good call on my dr's advice. Ever since I've stopped my little cup of coffee all my NST's have been fine. It was very scary to go through that, so I know how you feel. But, I think that if the Dr's felt something was terribly wrong they wouldn't have you go home. Let's hope the girls cooperate tomorrow, as my little one did! SORRY THIS IS SOOOO LONG!
