28-4-2008 - Preparing for Natural Labor scaredMy mood while writing this blog:
scared

Okay, it's getting closer now to the point where I have to start thinking about labor and what to expect. Well, the scary part is not knowing what to expect. I've heard feedback from woman who have gone through natural labor and I have watched videos to better prepare me, but it only has made me more scared and not prepared.

It looks so painful!!! It also sounds painful!!! I have already made the decision that I don't want an epidural or any other meds. Our body is naturally able to handle this and meds are unnecessary so I don't want to take any. I mean there's more to it than that, but the bottom line is that I won't be taking anything. ALL NATURAL!!!

Now, I understand that this is the decision that I am making, but I'm still entitled to be afraid. I hear that the calmer I am, the easier it will all be. So how do I remain calm? How can I focus once I feel the first punch of pain? I guess I have to remember the beautiful joy that is coming out of it and that the pain will be over in less than a day. A day of pain is definately worth my child. :)

I went all natural with my first. I wouldn't have it any other way. The pain is immediately GONE after your baby is born.. it's weird but great!
