I arrived at the hospital Monday morning at 7am. At 8am they started me on my pitocin, I was having some contractions, some I could feel some I couldn't. At 2pm my doctor came by and broke my water and attatched a fetal monitor on her head. That was extremely painful! After that I started having HELLA contractions! I had to have 2 bags of IV fluid before I could get an epidural, so they pretty much drained them into me as quickly as possible. I was crying the contractions were so strong! I started getting the urge to push at about 5pm. They called for more epidural drugs a "delivery dose" to have me hold off from pushing. My doctor wanted the baby to come down on her own, less straining on the mommy and easier for baby too. Then the doc came in at 5:45, got ready, they told me to give a sample to see what kind of pushing I could do. Then quickly yelled "STOP!" She was crowning, I barely gave a push. Then with two or three pushes there she was! I didn't feel like I was working very hard. It was AWESOME!! She looked so small to me, Alayna Riley was born at 5:56 pm, 8 pounds 3 ounces 19 inches long. She got an apgar score of 9.9. She is just precious!
