11-8-2011 - pregnancy #2

Hi,

today is 8/11/2011, i'm 39weeks and 3 days pregnantwith my second baby. this pregnancy flew by so fast because i've been going to school fulltime and taking care of my son. but now that i graduated on the 2nd of August i feel like the time is dragging! i went to l&d when i was 36 weeks because i had contractions 6 min apart, but they ended up sending me home because they faded away by the time i got there. i knew i wasn't in labor but i wanted to be checked and see where am i atat that poiont especially because i've been having braxton hicks contractions and tighteningof my belly since 35 weeks. well today i still have those contractions but nothing painfull. next monday is my due date and my midwaife wants to check me and do a membrane sweep to help things rolling if i was dilated enough. i'm hoping i will be dilated by then, i've been walking and using evening primerose oil both vaginally and orally to help my cervix soften.i've been doing vaginal exams myself but i have not noticed any difference! maybe nothing is happening again and will not untill i'm in active labor!

i can't wait to see my midwife nextweek andhopefully she'll have goodnews for me.

in the meanwhile i have to deal with all the pains and aches of the pregnancy till i meet my baby.

by the way, the ultrasoundshowed that i'mhaving a girl but for some reason everyone is telling me that i'm having a boy. including mama, but i guess we'll have to wait and see. i will know forsure when i'll have the non-stress testat 41 weeksif i went that far. i'm anxious because i only had one ultrasound during my whole pregnancy and there is a chance that the baby is a boy and i already bought everything in pink, or maybe it's my wishfull thinking! i wanted two boys and a girl. but if this is a girl then we're good .
