29-7-2009 - Just Checking In... It's Been Awhile

Hi All!

Wow - I guess it's been a while since I've been on the site! I can't believe how fast time is going by! I hope everyone is doing well and I look forward to catching up!

Things have been great on this end :) We got our mold issue fixed and got the nursery put together - very exciting! It's really cute and I can't wait to post some pics :)

I just had my baby shower this past Sunday and it was a great turn-out. I'll post pics of the shower as well - my SIL turned the entire living room and dining area into an underwater paradise to match the under-sea theme of the nursery... it was probably one of the coolest get-togethers I've had :) So much fun!

Pregnancy-wise, I have been absolutely EXHAUSTED. I am napping all the time now, but oddly enough, don't sleep through the night. I figure I should get sleep whenever I can and I'm so happy I'm not working right now so I can sleep at will!! :)

I did manage to get in a camping trip to celebrate the 4th of July! I am so glad we went when we did - it was definitely the last time I'd be able to do something like that while pregnant! I had so much fun, it made the million bathroom trips in the dark of night totally worth it! I did, however, notice that I had some weird instinctual fear of mountain lions at night though, lol! I kept thinking about how I had to keep the baby safe and freaked out on anything that moved! I must've shined my flashlight on all the neighbors' tents like a hundred times! It was such a fun trip though - I can't wait to introduce Isaac to camping!!!

The baby is starting to drop - he's in what my NP calls the "gliding" position - he's in the pelvis but she can still push him out just a little bit. I've also been a fingertip dilated since week 30 - last visit she said I'm not quite 1cm... hopefully that means my cervix is working on getting there though!

My uterus has definitely thinned out - I can feel every move Isaac makes and sometimes it's so uncomfortable it almost hurts! I think I'm just about ready for someone else to hold this baby for awhile - he's getting so heavy and I'm getting so tired! Comfort is now a distant memory!

I have so much enjoyed this pregnancy journey, but I tell ya, with the heat of summer, swelling, bathroom trips and the rolling that stretches my stomach to the point of no return, I think I'm just about ready to meet this baby! I know I'll miss being pregnant when it's all over, but I need a break! Mama is tirrrrred!

hi! glad to hear all is going well. it's great that u were able to go camping - i was too much of a baby to go at all this summer! i'm really glad to hear u got the mold issue taken care of, too, and that the nursery is good to go. we're still working on that... !

So good to hear from you! We all miss you and got worried about you! I'm in the exact same boat with the whole napping business and not being able to sleep through the night! I skipped first trimester fatigue though... so I'm trying to allow myself to rest, relax, nap, etc. There's just so much I want to do though! It's frustrating! I'm really glad that you enjoyed your shower so much! It sounds like it was really special!! I can't wait to see your nursery pictures!!!!!!

Good to hear from you again. You'll definately miss being pregnant, and wish for the days when you could get a good nights sleep. :-) These babies are so worth it though!
