08-2-2009 - ACK! Stretch marks!!

My mood while writing this blog:

I have been wondering since I became pregnant how exactly stretch marks sneak up on ya. I found out. =( The underside of my belly (you know, the side you can't see when you look down) was itching soooo badly. I tried putting lotion on it, cream, oil...and it still was super itchy. The sun was shining in the window so I grabbed a mirror and walked over to see if I had a rash or what was causing the itch. To my surprise and dismay, what do I do find? Shiny, pink streaks all over the "dark side" of my belly! What do I notice two days later as I looked in the mirror, stretching before my shower? Stretch marks under my boobs! GRRR! I have made it 29 weeks into this pregnancy without anything and all of a sudden, my skin is under seige! Well, I may have stretch marks and several extra pounds, but as long as this baby comes out healthy and chubby (just like his momma) I will be happy! It ain't over til the fat baby cries!

If , it makes you feel any better i was watching a morning news show and they had a female doctor on and she was talking about the stretch marks and she said they can not be prevented no matter what you put on them it is something genetic if your prone you get them but she said they fade. I got them 13 years ago with my first 10lbs boy when people ask if I have tat's I say yes all across my lower tummy it say's Ashten my big guy'name.

LOL, yeah, that is how it happened to me. They sneak up and mines went over the belly button! Let's hope yours doesn't do the same.

That is exactly how it happend to me in my first pregnancy! I had no idea I was getting them until I was changing clothes and hubby let me know gently that they were coming up from the bottom, ugh! I believe I was right around 30-32 weeks also. But your totally right in that if baby comes out healthy and happy than they are totally worth it (I refer to mine as my badge of honor)! TTYL :)

Mine showed up two weeks ago. i thought i was doing great because nothing had shown up until then. your blog made me smile and chuckle a bit because we know where you're coming from. my sister told me to look at it this way.....stretch marks are pregnancy scares that we get to remind our kids about when they get older.
