24-3-2009 - Contractions

Last Tuesday, the day I was taken off bedrest, I found a little blood in my undies...it was kind of pink/brown (mauve, as I like to call it) and I felt very crampy. So, all through the night I felt crampy and my back and hips hurt. The next morning I was still spotting and in pain so I went to the hospital and they gave me an NST. I was havin contractions about every 3-4 min. They checked my cervix and I was dialated to 1cm, cervix was very soft, and baby's head was "right there". They sent me home and said if I bleed more, have strong contractions or my water breaks to come back. It has pretty much stopped completely. I still have contractions occassionally but not like I was having. These just feel like tightening, no pain. All I really want is to be at my baby shower. If I have him before next weekend we will still have the shower but I won't be able to attend..even if he doesn't have to stay at the hospital I wouldn't have him around a big group of people like that. The other cool thing is the doc I saw this time said I was allowed to do whatever I felt comfortable with. Which gives me a lot more leeway. I can do laundry and vaccuum! LOL Not too much and I take frequent breaks...I'm not trying to go into labor!

yehhhh i deffo wish u can make it to ur shower with bub stil tucked away inside! i wudnt hav the baby at the shower either coz its just too many ppl around. i hope u get everything sorted out like the nursery and stuff befre he comes! i bet u already done that anyway! take care ov urself and dnt over do it xX Mez

Wow, I'm excited for you! Your LO is on it's way. I hope not too soon, but I bet you're ready to meet face to face. Keep us posted. I hope you can make your shower.

I am so glad you have some more freedom. I was terrible at bedrest! Good luck and I hope you make your shower...you deserve it! Take care and keep us posted.

Good luck, Won't be long now.... I will keep you in my thoughts and in my prayers, i know how badly we want our little ones here, but each day they stay in makes them that much more stronger... Kisses... prayers!

Wow, we are having the same things going on! I've been bleeding since Thursday and they chalked mine up to an "irritated cervix" I'm not dialated, but I get pretty consistent contractions throughout the day about 7 mins apart! Just keep an eye on it mama! I hope you get to attend your baby shower and I hope that your angel is ready to come out and healthy!
